Michael Nouri - Meditation and Domestic Violence

Michael Nouri is a successful actor whose career was undoubtedly helped by his dark good looks and whose most well-known role was in the movie, Flashdance. He has been a follower of Prem Rawat since the early 1970's and starred as Jesus Christ in an epic production at the Millenium '73 festival, "the most holy and significant event in human history." Post 2000 he has had numerous TV roles as a handsome older man and in an ironic quirk of casting played in the same series, The O.C., as his guru's niece, Navi Rawat. Known in the tabloids as a "notorious womaniser" he became even more notorious when arrested for domestic violence (beating his girlfriend) and charged with battery, false imprisonment and preventing her calling for help in 2012. From the photos it appears that Nouri hasn't quite got the hang of this Divine Light meditation yet which might explain his failure to find peace and infinite joy.

7:15 AM PT -- Michael Nouri's rep Steve Jaffe tells TMZ … "This is the kind of case which, if it didn't involve a celebrity, would not even be reported in the press." Nouri, who is of Lebanese origin, has been divorced twice and is the father of two. From 2001 to 2003, he was romantically linked to actress/producer Roma Downey (born on May 6, 1960). He is an ambassador of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Michael Nouri -- the famous character actor known for roles in "Flashdance" and "The Proposal" -- was arrested yesterday on suspicion of felony domestic violence … TMZ has learned. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ … police received a 911 call around 6:00 PM on Thursday to a home in Beverly Hills. We're told when cops arrived, they were told a fight between Nouri and his girlfriend had turned from verbal to physical. OF course he'd had pracrice in at leaast one of his roles. According to our sources, cops observed Nouri's girlfriend with visible marks and arrested Nouri on the spot. He was held on $50,000 bond and released around 1:00 AM this morning. Of course all this controversy and mid-life crisis violence could be explained by an inability to get the hang of Prem Rawat's techniques of meditation.

Well we're comin' from the East Coast
And we're comin' from the West Coast
And we're comin' from each land across the sea
Cause there's nowhere else to go
And there's nothing more to know
And there's no place on earth

In 1982 Nouri appeared in a large introductory pamphlet/boooklet along with a group of other premies with impressive resumés extolling the virtues of Rawat and Knowledge:

Michael Nouri is a highly visible actor (best known, perhaps, for a leading role in the television series, "The Gangster Chronicles"). Metaphorically, Nouri compares himself to a weary miner, panning for gold with little success until Maharaj Ji, "for the asking, gave me the map to the "mother lode: the key to my heart." "To say that I am rich is an understatement. The 'gold' is satisfaction - peace of mind - love," he says.
