Prem Rawat in Amaroo, 9th September June 2011
Well, welcome to Amaroo. And I read a little story and I think somehow it does relate to us as human beings on the face of this earth. There was a little baby polar bear and he went to his mommy and he said, "Mommy, am I really a polar bear?" And she looked at her baby and said, "Of course, you're a genuine polar bear. No questions asked. You are a polar bear." So with a little bit of a doubt, he ran out and found his dad and he said, dad, am I really a polar bear? And the dad looked at him and said, yes, absolutely, you're a genuine polar bear. There's no questions about it. You are a polar bear, my son. And so then still with a little bit of doubt, he ran off and found his grandmother and said, granny, am I really a polar bear? And the grandmother laughed and said, of course, you are a polar bear. There's no question about it. We come from a long line of polar bears. Your father is a polar bear. Your mommy is a polar bear. Look at me. I'm a polar bear. Your granddad was a polar bear. We're all polar bears and you too are a polar bear. And so she turned to him and said, but why do you ask? And the polar bear said, well, then if I'm really a polar bear, why am I cold? So when I read that, as jokes go, it's mediocre. It's not that great. It's cute. But that's our situation too. Who am I? What are we? Who are we? Why are we here? These are our questions because we don't know who we are and we question everything. And there's nothing wrong with questioning everything. If you can find the answer, you can't just question and question and question and question and questions because otherwise it's going to become irritating for you.
I mean, imagine somebody in the car sitting there as you're driving asking, are we there yet? And in a way, in our lives, we have gotten so far removed from what is reality that we don't know. We don't know who we are. We don't know why we're here. And so this brings me to a very important thing. And it's a word that obviously you have used before. And the word is ignorance. Now for most of us, what does ignorance mean? It means somebody who doesn't know. That's what ignorance means. If we do something and we didn't know, we say, well, I plead ignorance. So that's what ignorance means. And in this world, we even feel sympathetic to people who are ignorant. Oh, he's just ignorant. But do you know what ignorance really means? It actually comes from a very old word, ignore. I looked it up. What does ignorance mean? It comes from a very old word, to ignore. Now you realize the implications when the word is ignore, tied to ignorance. It means you cannot be let out of the hook. You cannot just say, oh, I don't know, I plead ignorance, I was ignorant. It actually means to ignore, and ignore what? In our situation, ignore what? As human beings, ignore what? Well, ignore the obvious. That's all. Not the unobvious, the obvious. To ignore the obvious. And that's what makes us ignorant. That's what makes us ignorant.
Now, figure this out. I didn't use the word you. I said us. Because whenever we go in our lives ignoring the obvious, that is ignorance. So it would be only appropriate to talk about the obvious. And it's the one thing that shouldn't be talked about, because it's obvious, right? But it has been ignored so much that it is not obvious. It is not obvious to you that you're alive today. This acknowledgment of I am alive, I'm not saying what that means. I'm not saying what that'll bring you. But acknowledgment that you are alive today, every day that you are. That I exist today. That the breath is coming into me today. That this is the blessing. If I ignore that, I become ignorant. This is what I ignore. It has been replaced with all the things I think about. Belief has replaced knowing. Understanding has been replaced by thought. Just a thought. Who's God? Do I understand? Do I understand God? You ask so many people in this world. Do you understand who God is? And they'll go, oh yeah. Wait a minute. Do you know what you just agreed to? Do you have any idea what you just agreed to? You just said you comprehend the uncomprehendable. Duh! You just said you actually understand the un-understandable.
What did the shastras say? Beautiful word in Sanskrit. Nethi. Nethi. Nethi. Now, some of you are from Australia. Some of you are from different countries. But all those ones who don't speak Hindi or anything to do with, you know, languages in India. Can you guess what Nethi means? No. No. No. Nethi. No. Sanskrit. Can you fathom that infinite? No. No. No. No. No. No. Not once no. And that's how it's written. Nethi. Nethi. Nethi.
Nethi. No way. Incapable. Now, I don't know Tamil. I know a few words. Want to come? That's the extent of my Tamil. And even that, I kind of learned because our engineer speaks Tamil. So, somebody started speaking Tamil to you, who does not understand Tamil. Will you understand it? No gestures. No gestures. Just... Off they go. Would you understand it? Now, those of you who don't speak Japanese, don't know Japanese, if somebody came to you and started speaking to you in Japanese, I don't know. Thank you very much. Is that so? I know more Japanese than I know Tamil. Would you understand it? No. Why? Just language. Why? Because your brain doesn't have the code to decipher what is being said. Now, can you learn it? Yes. But if you don't know it, can you understand it? No. Same thing with the infinite. Same thing, the value of every day. Same thing. You don't get it. You don't understand it.
Because you don't have the code to understand it. So, it plays out every day right in front of you. Right in front of you, the universe does its thing. And oh, by the way, do you know what universe is made out of? Any idea? Same dirt that's around here. Same dirt. This is the dirt. This is spectacular. You know, this dirt is taken, it is compressed, it becomes rocks. Rocks are taken, put out. It looks like separate than earth. But then the rocks grind themselves. The water comes along, wind comes along. Whatever comes along makes it right back into dust. Then the dust gets compressed, they become rocks. And here we have all of the things. And you too, by the way, your mother came about from elements from this earth. The minerals and everything that was required to manufacture you, to manufacture her, came from her mother. You, being in her womb, were manufactured by those same elements that you needed to put all that together. The water, all the minerals, all the calcium, all the stuff that the body extracts. And that there is actually no difference between you and you and you and you and me. None. That's why we can go to a doctor. Otherwise, they would have to be exactly as many doctors as there are people on the face of this earth. So half of would be patients and half would be doctors.
Can you imagine a world like that? Oh my God. I can't. So, because we are the same. But do we accept that or do we ignore that? Do we look at our differences or do we look at our similarities? Do we know how to understand a blessing? Do we view our life by the bad things that happen in it or the good things that happen in it? Both are going to happen. Both. There's absolutely no question about it. There are things that are going to happen in your life that you are not going to like. Neti, not going to like. And there are things that are going to happen in your life that you are going to be blown away with. Both are going to happen. Are you ready for both of them or not? Are you trying to gear yourself up for only one? And what is that one that you would like to happen a lot of in your life? It is good, right? What is good? You don't know what good is. Because reality has been replaced, understanding has been replaced by thought. So you can think what good is. Ah, good would be if I won lottery. Do you know there are people who actually commit suicide after they've won the lottery? They're pestered, made feel guilty by their entire family. You didn't give me this, you didn't give me this, this didn't happen, that didn't happen, they end up committing suicide. So I'm telling you that you want good to happen in your life, but you don't actually know what good is. You have no understanding of good. It's just a thought. This would be good. This would be wonderful. I always try to push the limit of the envelope, the edge of the envelope, as much as possible. So I asked at one of the events, if God showed up and knocked at your door, at your house, you have a house, apartment, whatever, and God knocked at that door, what would you do? Are you thinking? Are you? Are thoughts going, zzzzzzzz? See, understanding has been replaced by thought. Because if somebody said that to me, somebody was knocking at the door, and somebody was sitting next to me, And somebody said to me, why don't you answer that door? It could be God.
You know what I would tell them? Then why don't you go? You go. God knocked at my door a long time ago. Put the door in here. And my master told me how to open that door, so not that God could come in, but I can go out to where God is. From my little box of ideas, that's what my master said. You are just in a little box. And when you hear that knock, it is time to open the door, not to let someone in. Why would you want to let somebody in in your tiny little box? It makes no sense. That would be like, come on, God, be miserable with me. The knock is to open the door and walk into God's garden, God's world, the world of that power, the world of that infinite, the world of that reality. Because in my box, there is no reality, just concepts. Ideas. In true understanding, in true understanding, why would that creator need to knock? Knock is to announce oneself in case you don't know. I am here. You are in your house. You obviously cannot see, so knock, knock, knock. Call your attention. But when understanding has been replaced by thoughts, that's what happens. Oh, wow. I mean, granted, it's a beautiful idea. God at my door, knocking with his knuckles. But I had to say his. For the first part, I didn't have to use gender. But now that God is knocking, we've got to give him a gender.
I mean, we've got to go for the whole nine yards, make him a him, and da-da-da-da-da-da-da. This is what happens when there is no understanding. Thoughts run amok. Thoughts run amok. Mind wants to go at it. Create, create, create in thought, in thought. What is heaven? What is hell? What is good? What is bad? What is right? What is wrong? Who are you? Who you are not? Who's the person next to you? When you look at a face immediately, this goes to work and goes, OK, this person is good. This person is bad. That person, stay away from him. I don't know. I don't get good feelings from that person. Have you not done that? So you live in this world, but you don't. You don't. You exist, but you don't. You are, but you're not. Pretty severe, huh? But let me explain. Let me explain. What if somebody who is very poor, very poor, lived on a piece of land under which, after like 400 feet down, was full of gold, diamonds? What would you say to that? A person who is very poor, barely scrapes by for one meal a day, living on a land under which, 400 feet below, one treasure chest after another treasure chest, diamonds, gold bullions, incredible original Fabergé eggs, all hatched. So what would you express his plight would be? But he doesn't know. He doesn't know. All he knows is that he's poor, that he has no food, that this is it. But in the confines of his land, which are in such an isolated place, such an out-of-the-way place, that that's where the pirates decided to bury the treasure. Because they figured, this is one place nobody's going to come looking for. And treasure did they ever have, yes, incredible treasure.
And they buried it there. And this guy, now hundreds and hundreds of years later, is living on this land. And he is dirt poor. How would you express his plight? So much. I mean, all you can really say is, how unfortunate. So close. And yet so far away. I mean, it would be such a sad, comes to mind, sad situation. That however he lived his life, he didn't have to. That he could be well off. That he could enjoy things. That he could have food. That he could live in a beautiful place. And all this was under his foot, all this time. But he did not know. I'm sure that if he knew, he would have somehow figured a way out to get it out. But he did not know. So this is what I want to prevent happening. And I cannot be the only person who wants to prevent this. You too have to be that person who wants to prevent this, not in someone else's life. At least to begin with, in your life. Because otherwise, it's a sad story. Otherwise, it is pathetic. And the difference, the difference is very little.
Knowing and not knowing, that could have changed this person's fortunes. You too have come in this world. And you cannot ignore, cannot ignore what is so incredibly obvious. The most priceless thing for you, the most priceless thing for you is this process of breath that comes. It's rhythm. It's power. It's joy when it's welcomed. The calming, the peace, the elation, the excitement, all bundled together. Not sadness. It flees. Not sadness, but this joy that comes from the deepest part of your being with gratitude, with knowing that you're being blessed, that the blessing of all blessings that could be endowed upon a human being is taking. This is the obvious. It's happening. When this breath no longer comes into you, you will have no reason to be sad or glad. I know tragedies happen. Remember I told you, good things are going to happen and bad things are going to happen. Not just once. They're repeated. Good things will be repeated. Bad things will be repeated. Each time the bad thing's going to come, you're going to wonder, why me? Why me? Why me? Why me? You have no idea. When you're hit by bad, one of the things you become completely full of is humility. I've seen the best of them. I've seen super egocentric people become humble.
Hyper humility. Hyper humility. You've experienced that, haven't you? All of a sudden, you become, oh, God, Duke, oh, please. But your nature is what? Let me explain. Let me explain what your nature is. There was a guy, and he was late for his work. And he knew that his boss did not appreciate him being late. So he's driving around in the parking lot looking for a space to park his car. And he can't find it, and he's getting frustrated. And finally, out of desperation, he just closes his eyes, stops his car, closes his eyes, folds his hands, says, God, Lord, just please, I need a parking space. And you're all powerful, and you're all merciful. And if you could miraculously provide me with a parking space, I will go to church every Sunday. I'll give up drinking. And amazingly enough, miraculously, a parking space appears. And the guy says, never mind, Lord, I found one. Well, that's exactly what we do. Humility, we don't like. Humility, we don't like. We like to hoard on praise. And when other people do not give us that praise, we create it. I did that, and I did that, and look what I did. And look what I have accomplished. There seems to be such a desperation for it. There's a saying that, in the times of plenty, prepare for the times of drought when there's not going to be much.
How do you do that? How do you do that? Well, learn to be humble. A little bit of humility in your life will go a long ways. Long ways. Humility towards whom? Towards you. Understand your vulnerability. You will be humbled. I guarantee it. Because you are not here forever. It's a limited time. Limited time. And that time comes too fast. Too fast. You don't know. Some of you are young, so it's too fast. Way too fast. Because when it starts to actually become clear that there it is, the round the corner field, and there's nothing you can do. Nothing. It just marches. Marches. That there's nothing, nothing that can be done. But a little humility, I understand. I understand. This is how it is. So it is.
The dust will become dust. So it is. That the form that you see of a rock belies its origins. You see the rock, you see it rough, tough, right? Rock. It wasn't always that way. It was actually just dust. That's been compressed. That's why it looks like a rock. And the first opportunity it will have, it will go back to being the dust. And that's how it is. That's why humility is very important to understand about yourself. That to fall in love with life. If you want to fall in love with life, it is not what you do in life that you should fall in love with. You should truly fall in love with life. People say, oh he loved life. Because he went bungee jumping. He did parachute jumping. He went to every picnic. He rode down every river. He tackled every alligator, crocodile. Wrong. Wrong. He fell in love with things that he did because he was alive or she was alive. A thrill seeker.
Because could not find anything thrilling in life. So went seeking for thrills. I fly. And I have flown in helicopters with doors off. I actually flew one of these helicopters. Remember the old ones that had the big chin bubble? Big bubble thing and no doors? Scared me. And I just constantly make sure my seat belt is... And the first time I flew one of those, I had the helicopter license and my instructor said, oh you should fly one of these. I said okay. And I was completely prepared that he was going to come with me and we were both going to go off. No, he just says, just fly it. It's okay. Just get in it. I had never flown the thing before. Thrill. Thrilling. I like speed. I like to go fast. So when I was with that thing flying around, I went over to one of the highways and I realized the cars were going faster than I was. Those things didn't go very fast. So I turned around, came back and said, this is okay. Now cars are going faster than me? This is not right. So encounter as close as possible to death. Thrilling. I thought you wanted to live forever.
When thoughts take over for understanding, weird things, strange things, what kind of things happen? Look around. The world today. That's what happened. That's what happened. Reality has gone out the window. In God's name, people kill themselves. Governments are no longer interested in protecting people. Just protecting themselves. Whatever it takes. Mothers don't know how to take care of their babies. Fathers have no clue how it happened. It's amazing how many children are conceived in this world in a complete state of inebriation. Whoops. What happened? Was somebody trying to state the obvious? It's not understood? What's he talking about? What's he talking about? He's talking about life is a blessing. And don't you, don't you dare replace that understanding with some stupid thought. Don't you dare. Because if you do, you will be more lost than you can imagine. Do you know what the worst thing about being lost is? Do you know what the worst thing about being lost is? It is you don't know you are lost. Uncanny isn't it? It's not like, oops, you're going to get lost. No. Off you go. I'm fine. I know where I am. Everything is good.
And then the only good thing is when you know you are lost, that is the possibility of not being lost begins. When understanding isn't being replaced by thoughts. This is a beautiful example. You know, the reality is there should be an understanding. I am lost. But no, it's being replaced by thoughts. I know where I am. Everything is fine. Everything is great. Everything is wonderful. Till you realize you've driven 40 kilometers and your destination was only five. There's a whole dynamics with women and men. If man is driving, the woman will query, are you lost? And this pushes, because of no humility, pushes the man into an awkward position. Of course not. I know where I am. I know what I'm doing. Pride comes in. I don't want to roll my window and say, do you know where I am? People have bought these new GPS things. Except they're dangerous. If you don't know how to use them, they're really dangerous. And as the technology improves, they're getting better and better and better and better. But there have been people who have completely gotten lost in wilderness because this thing kept saying, keep going straight. Keep going straight. Keep going straight.
And after all, they've got their eight-channel GPS receiver. I mean, how can anything go wrong? Whenever I use one, and it's a new one that I've never used before, the first thing I do is go on a road that I know and let it give instructions. And when it starts giving screwy instructions, I'm like, ha ha ha, I'm not using this thing. It's not set up right. Because I cannot afford, I understand I cannot afford in my life to trade understanding for thoughts, regardless how wonderful my thoughts may be. Oh, everything is great. Everything is grand. Everything is wonderful. Understanding, knowing, understanding what is today. That if I want a celebration of today, I am the one who has to celebrate it. Nobody else is going to celebrate it with me. I have to celebrate. That I have to be aware, aware of the blessing that has been given to me. A lot of people. So why am I blessed? Who cares? Who cares? Keep asking that question, and you won't be. For very long. Regardless of that. Not that long anyways, that you're on this earth. So, in the times of good, when things are wonderful, things are going exactly your way, humility, kindness, clarity, horde, those things. Not confusion. Not questions. Answers. Now, you have heard me say many times, there is the ocean of answers. You have heard me say, go for the answers.
You don't have to go for the questions. And a lot of people don't understand that. Is that possible? Yes, it is. It's like this. You have a wallet. You got Australian dollar bills in your wallet. Right? Do you really need a bill for each one of those dollars? No. Do you? A receipt? For each one of those dollars? You don't have to, do you? You can have those dollars all day long in your pocket without spending one single one. Can't you? The receipts are the questions. Those dollars are the answers. And what do you like? Receipts or dollars? Be smart. Go for the dollars. Have a nice big plump wallet in your back. Forget the receipts. Whether you get them or you don't get them, fine. A lot of people go, no, I got to match the receipts to the dollars. No, you don't. In the time of plenty, it is easy to be clear. It is easy to be clear. If you're not gloating, it's easy to be clear. So be clear. And the first clarity should be, this isn't going to last long. Get on it. Be thankful that everything is going your way.
Good. Good. But at the same token, no. Understand? Collect these. Why? Because when the tough time comes, it'll be fairly smooth sailing. Yes, there'll be a little water splatter here and a little water splatter there, but you're not going to sink because you're well-equipped, because you did not ignore. There's 1,500, 1,700, 2,000. I don't know what the final number is. That's how many people are here. And there's many, many, many, many, many thousands of people who, too, have the gift of Knowledge in their lives. Very, very close to a million. Very close. And I say to all of those people that you have taken a challenge in your life, you have accepted an endeavor in your life to be clear, to be thankful, to be real, to have understanding, not just thoughts, then this is good. This is good. This is good for you to practice, to make that time, to have that commitment for the real joy in your life. Because in this world, where everything shifts and it's changing and it's changing, it's changing, it's going to change. I read something not too long ago. You know you're getting old when it takes more time to rest than to get tired. You get tired more quickly than it takes a long time to rest, and that time is greater. I think there's a lot of people like that. Watch the five-minute TV, go, I'm tired of changing the channels. I need to rest. In this ever-changing world, because it is, it is not those changes that matter. It is the constantness, your firmness to adhere to understanding that blessing every day that's going to make you who you are.
That is your strength. Deviating from that understanding, deviating from that clarity is your weakness. You're good at it. I am good at it. That is our weakness, and holding steadfast to that understanding, to that clarity, to that gratitude, to that focus, to that beauty, to that blessing, and acknowledgment of the same is our strength. Those are the things that can allow us to endure the impossible, whatever. I don't know, but I do know. Not thinking what I know, not imagining what I know, no. Just recently I was doing that event in Fiji, and I said, OK, so how many of you believe in God? That's a beauty. You've been trained all your life. So here you are sitting, and I don't say that right off the bat. I realize you don't get good reaction. You got to get everybody nice and comfortable, and they realize, OK, this is OK, this is pretty funny, this is all right, you know. Then you go. I said, how many of you believe in God? I had done it in India, you know. I've done it in India, like 100,000 people. How many of you believe in God? And of course, to egg everybody on it, I raise my hand too. And when they see me raising my hand, oh, OK. And then how many of you know? And it's the first time, I think, in their lives that somebody has actually challenged them with that. And explain. Hey, in knowing, believing is covered. But in believing, knowing is not covered. So you want to be a believer or a knower? Knowledge. Knowledge.
What a beautiful word. Knowledge. Knowing. Take some time and practice that Knowledge. Because one night, you know, sometimes these thoughts hit me. So one night it was one of these thoughts, and so I wrote it down. And this was in the middle of my flight training. I have to go there every six months and demonstrate that you still know what is the front end of an airplane, I guess. Because it's really made, the whole training is really made for somebody who just wasn't flying. Maybe once in six months. I do a lot more flying than that. But in any case, so this is what I wrote down. Appreciate the ones you love and love the ones you appreciate. So if you can love that blessing and appreciate it, because it means everything to you, doesn't it? Everything. Without it, you have no relatives. You have no business. You have no entity. You don't have an identity. You don't have problems, and you don't have anything good. Nothing. But does ignorance rule you? Have you been ignoring the obvious? It is time you stop. Do not. Knowledge is like that glowing sun that comes and shatters. You've heard that, haven't you? Knowledge is that sun that comes and shatters the darkness of ignorance.
This is when you no longer ignore that every time you make an excuse, you're ignoring the obvious. I don't have time. I'm busy. This is the only place you're busy. This is the only place you're busy. This is the only place where too many things are going on. Physically, they cannot happen that way. You understand that, right? Here, physically, they can't. They can't. You can only do what you can do. You cannot be walking and lying on the bed at the same time. Can you? It's not possible. But here, all that could be happening. And there are people who lie on the bed and they're fighting. They're running. So here is where you don't have time. Physically, time is what it is. Here, you carry the burden. In your mind, you carry the burden of all the things you have to accomplish. In reality, there is no burden. There isn't. Here, oh, I have to make the toast. And I have to get ready. And I have to eat the toast.
Toaster makes the toast. All you have to do is push it in, put it in, push the button, make sure it's plugged in, and turned on. And then you can go about your business. But you are quite willing to stand there, sit there, lie there, and be frustrated by the busyness of this. Because if you have no control over what goes on up here, that's what's going to happen. Chaos. There's a story that used to be told. One time, a man went and asked God to give him a genie. And God said, well, why do you want a genie? He said, well, I've got so much that I want done, I would like to have a genie. And God said, well, okay, I'll give you a genie. But remember one thing, the day you run out of things to do, this genie will eat you. The guy says, don't even worry about that. So the genie comes, and the genie goes, what do you want me to do? And the guy just started thinking, and the genie says, if you have nothing for me to do, I'll be happy to eat you. He says, no, wait, wait, wait, wait. I want a big, big, big house. No, no, I want a big palace. Just like that, there was the palace. Next. I want servants in the palace. Next. I want some cars. Next. And I mean, this was just happening, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam. And it got pretty much to the point in a day where the guy was having to do some serious thinking of what he wanted next, because everything he wanted, boom, done, done, done, done, done, done, done, done.
And the genie said, okay, if you are taking too long here, if you've got nothing to want, nothing to wish, I get to eat you. And the guy realized he was in serious trouble. Serious trouble. Serious trouble. So he had heard about a master, so he goes running to the Master. Help me! Said, what? Said, well, told him the story. This is what happened. I asked God for a genie. God told me that if I ran out of wishes, the genie would eat me, and now, you know, pretty much I can't figure out what else I want, except for this genie not to eat me, but that's not one of the wishes I can wish for. This thing wants to eat me. Can you help me? And the Master said, yes, I can help you, but I hope you've learned your lesson. So, yes, I've learned my lesson. Now please help me. Master said, okay, tell the genie to climb up the tree and then come down. Climb up the tree and come down. Climb up the tree and come down. So when the genie showed up, the guy said, okay, go up the tree. Genie climbs up the tree. Now come down. Go up. Come down. Go up. I think you kind of understand what I'm talking about, right? Without me having to say it. That genie, once he's told, okay, go up.
Come down. Go up. Come down. Starts to go. All right, you got me. You got me. That's why it's important to understand the value of Knowledge and the value of that experience that resides in you. When all that happens, gratitude is automatic. You don't have to try to create it. Thankfulness happens. And that's it. That's it. Do not be ignorant. Now that you understand what that implies, do not ignore the obvious. Not knowing because you don't want to know, you don't care to know, you ignore it. If you want to know, you can know. Every day, making a gentle effort. A beautiful, gentle effort. How gentle? As gentle as a rose that opens as it matures. As gentle as the sunflower that chases the sun. Because there's a love. There is a need. There is a want. This little sunflower has figured out it's just a flower.
A lot of people would eat it. And it's not even going to complain. Not going to scream and screech. But it's a flower that's figured out something. That its existence can be made possible if it figures out a way to follow that sun. So it does. It does. And every day, it readies itself in anticipation of the sunrise. So it'll be there, ready to catch the light of the sun. It's not stupid where it says, okay, the sun set in the west, so I'm just going to keep pointing. That's where it went. No. It uses the whole night to go, I know where it's going to come. And I'm not going to lose any time chasing back. But I will be there, ready, in anticipation. Then those who, in anticipation of that moment, that hour, that time to sit down and practice, await with joy that time to come, they too will become successful like that sunflower, and beautiful. And does it indeed not look like the sun? That's why it's called the sunflower, isn't it? Ah! How much love must there be for this thing that is millions of miles away, so helpless to do the impossible, to take on the look of the one, and then to follow every day and every night. It is in focus of that sun. Its night is no longer a night, but the chance to prepare itself for the morning, from where the sun will rise. This is how much love you should have. This is how much love you should have. This is how much you should be in love. If a sunflower can do it, you would think, as human beings, wouldn't have too much problem. But we do.
We do. And why? Because understanding gets replaced by thought. Then you spin the yarn here. Who is God spun in here? What is God spun in here? What is liberation spun in here? What is freedom spun in here? What is peace spun in here? What is joy spun in here? Rather than understanding what truly peace is, what truly joy is, what truly salvation is, what truly liberty is, what truly freedom is. The whole world, the free world they call it, that's why the free world doesn't feel very free. It doesn't. It doesn't. You would think that people would be coming together. No. No. First excuse, further divide. Further divide and further divide and further divide and further divide and further divide. So why do we have all these airplanes? To go to different countries? We certainly don't need an A340 to go from one coast of Australia to the other coast of Australia. That thing has enough range to go from east coast of Australia to west coast of Australia and back without refueling. No, it is to go to other places in the world to see that there are other people like you that have the same ambitions like you. That have the same problems like you. And that we all need to not look at our piece of land and go, I have to do everything to protect it. No, we need to be thinking about protecting the whole earth. Because there's nothing like it. Nothing like it. We're billions and billions and billions and billions and billions and billions and billions of miles. They have been listening to radio waves, scanning the sky. It was a long time ago they figured out that there was a tremendous amount of interference. Tremendous amount of interference and they didn't know where it was coming from.
So somebody figured out that there was actually coming from outer space. And they finally figured out that everything that was going on out there And so they figured, well, maybe there's some intelligent life out there that is putting out radio waves too. You know, going, good morning, glob, gloob, gleeb, whatever. And they've been listening. They've been listening for an incredibly long time. Guess what? No good morning, gleeb, glob, gloob, gleeb. Nothing. How can people ignore such an obvious thing? That we need to be thankful for what we have. The sunrise, the sunset, the rain, the fall, the winter, the summer, the spring, the little butterfly painted in the most incredibly intricate way, the iridium light dancing on the wings, the peacocks, the snow on top of the mountains, the white water gushing in the waterfalls and the clarity of the water. And I mean, it exists absolutely nowhere else. I mean, you talk about the moon. I mean, this is what we've been fascinated with, right? Believe me, you've seen a little piece of the moon. You've seen the whole thing. How long would it take to get the tour of the moon? Two minutes. Done. No, this is where the differences are. Beautiful countries like Australia, like South America, like Europe and all the countries in Europe and Africa and India and China and Russia. I mean, spectacular. And Canada. So, here we go into our ideas of what it is and ignore the obvious. The consequences of that? People die hungry when there's plenty of food. So, this is why so long ago somebody said, Maya, illusion, and people went, how dare you call this illusion? You know, when this whole economic thing happened and it's happening in Europe, it's still happening in America, I was just going out there telling people, hey, illusion. And they're like, yeah. Two years before, illusion.
No, no, no, no, no, no. No, no, no, no, no. You don't have to be a philosopher to figure out something isn't right. And it's not. And people don't care. Nobody's putting it right. All people care about is, bring us the good old days. But those good old days is when you got slaughtered. I don't care. Bring back the good old days. That's not good old days. Today's a good old day. If you understand what this breath is, what this blessing is, then you will get it. And you will be happy. You will have joy, real joy. Unwavering joy. The joy, not long ago I got a letter from Abhijan. And they were all in this house because there was a fight going on, bullets flying everywhere. So they're in this house taking shelter. And what are they doing? Some of the people who have Knowledge, they were showing videos to other people who are also taking shelter. And one of them was a soldier. And he was taking shelter. And he just said, I'm a soldier. I have to fight.
This is my job. But just listening to this message has brought me peace. So this is such an opportunity in the truest sense of the word that you have today, that you had yesterday, that you had the day before. And God willing, it will keep coming till it does. Each day is that opportunity for you to be fulfilled. Do not be ignorant because you can't afford it. It's too expensive. It's too expensive. What you can afford is clarity. What you can afford is understanding. What you can afford is joy. My advice to you is get those. Those you can afford. And enjoy yourselves. So thank you very much, and good night.
