Songs of Praise and Worship Inspired by Prem Rawat: Whatever It Is That's Between Us
In this Youtube video filmed at the 1980 Holi festival Prem Rawat arrives onstage shirtless but wearing a giant floral male and wreaths to keep his man-boobs and flabby belly and shoulders discretely half-hidden. Apparently grown premie men have fainted in ecstacy at the sight of his body unclothed so they are taking no chances. Prem Rawat dances on stage to lyrics that purport to express the deepest worship, the highest devotion and bliss though the melody is melancholy and sad as were so many of Prem Rawat's greatest hits.
For the first 20 years of his career Prem Rawat (Maharaji) was known as the Lord of the Universe or its Hindi equivalent, Guru Maharaj Ji and known as the Lord or our Lord for short. This song is timeless but the lyrics do not fit Prem Rawat's later public persona so it is on low rotation in Prem Rawat's Greatest Hits.
Whatever It Is That's Between Us

Whatever it is that's between us
Take it all away
For the loneliness and the longing for You
Is growing more every day
Like the waves of an ocean
I feel Your love washing over me
Whispering Your Holy Name to purify me
My Lord you are golden
And warmer than the sun
There is a power in your smile
That brings my heart undone
For you have shown me
The deepest love
That anyone could know
And I feel your grace throughout me
Everywhere I go
Chorus
After many days of sadness
And searching for You
You came with all your radiance
To show me what is true
And you have loved me tenderly
You have saved my soul
Now I gaze in wonder
And watch your magic unfold
Chorus
