Songs of Praise and Worship Inspired by Prem Rawat: Silent Dreams

By 1996 Prem Rawat, formerly known as Guru Maharaj Ji, was still thinking He could gain new followers bank-rolled by the rusted-on middle-aged leftovers from his early 1970s success. This song, sung by his daughter Dayalata, is too mediocre to make high rotation in Prem Rawat's Greatest Hits. In His early career in the West he gained many followers very quickly by preaching a simplified, hippified form of Sant Mat but the meditation was pretty basic, he was a poor speaker, an unappealing guru and his only avenue for growth by the later 1990s was to use his followers' wealth to create infrastructure in India where even an average Godman can raise a pretty impressive crowd.

Silent Dreams

Come to me my silent dreams

And I will give you voice
The voice to call me in my sleep
And tell me I'm alive

And I would sleep along
Until I would
I'd await your command

The deadly thought this is your life
And there is nothign will answer
Shattered when you find
Your true inside
inside your heart dwells a love
They cannot break
and neither neither nether can they take

Questioning what is real
I lie awake
Then as softly as I sleep
The voices call and they tell me what is real

Oooh Oooh
What'll I be that remains
I have a life
Is there something more?
Well what's more to me than my life
I am alive
