Songs of Praise and Worship Inspired by Prem Rawat: The Lord of the Universe
For the first 20 years of his career Prem Rawat (Maharaji) was known as the Lord of the Universe or its Hindi equivalent, Guru Maharaj Ji who was strangely referred to as our Father though He was younger than all His premies or devotees. In the early 1970s as the Divine Light Mission grew at an astonishing rate the newly converted counter-cultural youth were confident to sing songs like Lord of the Universe in public. This confidence waned quickly and songs with grandiose lyrics were confined to the scrap heap. But these songs are timeless and are still on high rotation in Prem Rawat's Greatest Hits in private.
The Lord of the Universe
The Lord of the Universe
Has come to us this day
The Lord of the Universe
Has come to us this day
And He's come to show us Light
And He's come to show us Love
And He's come to show us the Way
Back to our Father.
Open up your heart to the Universe of Love
And He will fill you up.
Open up your heart to the Universe of Love
And He will fill you up.
The Lord of the Universe
Has come to us this day
The Lord of the Universe
Has come to us this day
And He's come to show us Light
And He's come to show us Love
And He's come to show us the Way
Back to our Father
Open up your heart to the Universe of Love
And He will fill you up.
Open up your heart to the Universe of Love
And He will fill you up.
The Lord of the Universe
Has come to us this day
The Lord of the Universe
Has come to us this day
And He's come to show us Light
And He's come to show us Love
And He's come to show us the Way
Back to our Father
Back to our Father
Back to our Father
Back to our Father
Back to our Father.
