Guru Maharaj Ji aka Prem Rawat: Hans Jayanti 6th November 1979 evening transcript

After while I stopped recording the laughter, it was particularly loud at the end. His speech was difficult to record, the OCR software produced paragraphs of nonsense, not just phrases, not just sentences, but paragraphs trying to record the nonsense he is speaking. His word order and grammar are singular but this day he has a bad throat. Guru Maharaj Ji was often sick with a cold and stuffed nose which he'd frequently clear by sucking up the snot and swallowing it but this night he is speaking quickly with a slightly slurrred and muffled voice and many attempts to clear his throat.

He goes into a long discussion of premies giving satsang and general premie community life. He talks about premies needing protection from other premies, how premies are people who do not care for others, how they lie to and cheat each other. How they use interpersonal "satsang" to insult and denigrate each other with false accusations because they don't have the guts to speak openly, how premies probably hate each others' guts, are people who cannot get along together in this world, but that's okay because they should only ever look to Himself. He gives an example of a premie convincing his wife to have a threesome so they could share more satsang. How stupid can you get? Apparently premies are that stupid. He is angry that premies are using satsang and service for their own purposes … not His.

He mentions there has been a population explosion of premies children. He is disdainful of these tinker toys. Every child is a serious reduction in the donations that couple might have made to him in their lives. He expresses his frustration about premies seeking appointments for personal advice "if they can't understand it through satsang I don't know another language." He gives the example of a pregnant premie who didn't know what to do. Just tell her "I didn't get her pregnant. How do I know what to do?" (extreme laughter). He demonstrates a callous attitude to the premie dillemas which are mainly caused by trying to live the difficult premie life without the promised bliss and joy.

He says premies are not the strong and eager, they are the meek and the miserable, the weak and humble, the ones who have been given up by this world, the ones who would jump off the Empire State Building twice to compare the effect of landing on their feet or their head. He reinforces the DLM myth that premies who stop practising Knowledge are emotionally and psychologically damaged and return to Maharaji's feet (literally) with metaphorical broken bones that he can recognise.

He takes a trip to India with camel dung ladoos and the full range of murderers, drunks and whore-mongers who were transformed by the Perfect Master of their time and became saints and poets. Part of the speech on the Mahabharata is missing.

His speeches were not written or prepared but they are certainly not done without rehearsal. The speeches preceding his current one are the rehearsals and his speeches following evolve gradually using the same store of tales, premie gossip, clichés, life events, recent tv shows and stock phrases. He invariably garbles his first attempts at new "insights" and and it is these sections that were edited or removed when his speeches were published. His publisheed speeches have all been edited and give a false picture, His thinking is much more disorderd than they show. My transcripts are word for word and give a more realistic picture of his thinking.

Guru Maharaj Ji aka Prem Rawat: Hans Jayanti 6th November 1979 evening transcript

Dear Premies, (clears throat)

Today again, you know, so the whole day has been wasted in Satsang and for some of us, perhaps uh to be able to visualise, to be able to see another step that we have to all take. You see, when we when we talk about making effort, you know, climbing ladders or whatever we talk about. It isn't like one day we're going to find yourself woken up, you know, into this stage of transfer(? trance?). Whatever. Where everything will be incredible. Where one day you'll wake up and the sun will never set for you and everything will be psychedelic. Everything you touch will turn into whatever you want it to turn into. Whatever you wish. Whatever you desire will immediately and absolutely come true. No, it is to constantly plug ourselves into that experience to stay there. Takes a lot of effort to be alive in Guru Maharaj Ji's world. Takes a lot of effort. Why does it take a lot of effort? Why does it take so much effort of being to exist in Guru Maharaj Ji's world? The fact is, it really does not take in any effort to exist in Guru Maharaj Ji's world. It doesn't doesn't really take any effort to have an experience.

But the elements that we are surrounded by, the elements that we have to cope with. You see its like in this world everything I guess tries to be as beautiful it is. You know everything tries to have a status. Some people are into trees. You know, for some other people, trees are nothing. They can't see any beauty in a tree. But then there are these tree freaks. You know, like for some people, what are plants? Nothing. Plants is a plant, you know, I mean, it's like a grass or anything, but for some people, you know, it's outrageous, you know, they'll pet the plant, they'll spray the plants, they'll kiss the plants, they'll talk to the plants. To them, that's also an element.

Since time immemorial for those people, and it's obvious, who have only had one desire in their life, and that is to be in that experience have naturally on their own behalf separated this from this world. Nobody has given them any satsang like this. You know, it reminds me of that one story of that one premie. (clears throat) And there it is a night time. He's in his big house with his, you know, uncle and his aunt. And then all of a sudden within him. I mean, just a little boy really, Within him an intense desire to be in the experience of Guru Maharaj Ji pulled him. And at that time, like right there, he has to make that decision whether he's going to be off this world. Whether what he has been involved in so many years, is there that's that's where he's going to stay involved? Or in fact, he's going to be really sucked up in that stream of devotion. And like many of us make that decision to perhaps hang on a fine line. Hang right on top of the fence, you know. And it's like that's where we try to shoot for. You know that one day of devotion, one day of satsang, service and meditation and then perhaps you know another day of this world. An experience of satsang exists isn't like you sit down 24 hours a day and somebody has to get up on the stage and go at it and you have to sit there and listen to every word. That's just like a Sergeant briefing. That's just like somebody getting up and having to have their concept.

You see inside of you is satsang, it's incredible, the way satsang works to me it's incredible anyway. If I am open. If I am open if I am having an experience, if I have a sincere desire to have an experience then whatever is being said is not so significant to me as what the experience from that person is flowing. Then that's what I clatch onto, that's what I can grab onto because what he's saying can be anything. What he is saying can be a stupid story. What he can be saying is perhaps the philosophy or perhaps the spring he can get up try to ignite his engines and get nowhere with him. You know I mean sometimes what happens to the initiator. Or for so many premies, you know, they get up and they have stage fright and they take one look at the premies everywhere and they go "oops" and they have to be perhaps scratch for work and yet (clears throat) it's so simple because if I get if I attach myself to the words then I will find mistakes. I don't care if it is the most intellectual person getting up, not having to memorise anything, get up there got to go at it, you know, after after 10 minutes or so even your tongue will get tired and start to flop around in your mouth and some things will come out that you really don't meant to didn't mean to say anyway. You know.

But the essence of satsang, the nuculeus (sic) of satsang, it's pure. The experience that really that person has in his heart is real. Perhaps what he expresses himself at is not. That can happen, that can happen very naturally. You know somebody can go out and make us up satsang, sit down in the night time tent, you know, it's like tomorrow you're going to get up and give satsang and I sit down in the right all this hot sunlight you know and they get up, says says - this is what happens, if I go tell ten premies that they're going to give satsang tomorrow, who have never given satsang either in their communities nor ever ever in a programme this big, and I tell them to get up and give satsang and it's like all night long they're gonna think about it and they're gonna meditate and they're gonna try to surrender and they're gonna go "Oh Guru Maharaj Ji please help me" you know, or whatever it's worth give it a go right "help me" and then their little, you know, they probably won't be able to go to sleep they'll try to go to sleep early so they can wake up early in the morning and be all refreshed and everything to give out to you know their satsang. They're gonna think what they want to say about, they will get up and all of a sudden, I mean, maybe they have prepared themselves in very many ways and they get up and all of a sudden they can't see, can't say a word and at that point they completely going to meditation. They completely, you know, become come to a point where their intellectual intellect has failed. Their ego is just battered, finished. There they are standing, you know. And what can they do? And they just completely pray to Guru Maharaj Ji and go into meditation and start having a deep experience in meditation, an incredible experience of meditation. Guru Maharaj Ji comes in front of them you know in their meditation to see the incredible life. They have an incredible experience. For most of us we'll be going like "Come on get this guy off, you know, start the music up. I mean that's what probably Joe Anctil will say "What's the guy doing? (laughter) "Get him out of there" and you know I mean he's got to watch out, you know, that people get up there and give satsang. He's the MC and that's it, for most of us we would say "Man what is he doing?" You know, everyone of our tape recorders would go on a pause, you don't wanna record, you don't want to burn tape. As soon as you start getting satsang, you'll turn on our tape recorders and yet for that premie he's having a wonderful wonderful experience of satsang, of meditation, of Guru Maharaj Ji. I mean here we are sitting, perhaps we have just wanting to have one experience or satsang and that's premie he's having experience of Guru Maharaj Ji, satsang, service, meditation, total doing it everything in his life and the thing is that's what happened sometimes, that really happened sometimes, it's not hypothetical because you see we hold on (clears throat) to our little rail, to our little crutches and it's like Guru Maharaj Ji comes along so many times in our life and offers us a hand, says "Can I help you? Can I support you?" And if you say "No Guru Maharaj Ji, I'll do it myself" and we try to walk on our crutches, you see it isn't the matter of that you won't make mistakes, you will make mistakes and that is the most guaranteed thing. Everyone of you perhaps want to achieve a stage of perfection but you don't want to become perfect because you can't become perfect.

There is only one way you can become perfect and that is when you completely lose yourself. But when you lose yourself then you are not you anymore. You lose yourself first. I guess you know for so many people, there's an immaculate concept of what, what everything is all about. What this is all about, you know, why do we have to come to Hans Jayanti? We don't have to come to Hans Jayanti and then where are you going to go? You know Hans Jayanti is only a substitution. The fact of the matter is that a devotee has to constantly be with their Guru Maharaj Ji. Twenty four hours a day, you know, at least second ticking by, every minute, you know, every day of the year, every day of the century and because of our 8 ball circumstances we can't sleep and so this is a persecution to them. Guru Maharaj Ji comes, gives us satsang, gives us darshan. Every moment becomes very precious. We try to squeeze out as much as we can and then it's finished, you know, it's just like, you know, a year ago there was Hans Jayanti. Who would ever believe that was a year passed by? It's incredible. There we are again and what has changed? And in one sense nothing has changed. It's really in our heart we don't know but which direction we have to proceed then nothing has changed.

But if we know that all we can be, that our most natural stage of being is just a devotee. No expectation. See when you expect, then your heart is full of expectations. Not of Guru Maharaj Ji but when you don't expect, when you just are surrendered in front of Guru Maharaj Ji then you can have an experience of Guru Maharaj Ji. In this, in this path of Knowledge no one of us can walk alone. We have to be coupled up with Guru Maharaj Ji. Not other premies, not an initiator, you know, look to our initiators start giving you confused answers. Now you come up to them. Start telling you really confused things. I wouldn't be a bit surprised because they're not perfect. You know, I mean that doesn't mean that these initiators aren't gonna try their best. They are. You do you better (laughter, confused babble) if they can't, they can't and you know here we are, maybe you know do not have we say "But I can't take any of this. I can't take satsang."

There was one premie in London England the steward you know he came to the darshan line and says "Guru Maharaj Ji please protect me from your friends." (laughter) And it really stuck in my head, you know, cause he was right. (laughter) He was absolutely right. I mean what what premies don't do? They cheat each other. They'll kid each other. They'll spread a rumour. They'll lie to each other. I mean, to me that's what a rumour is, it's just lying. That's all. I mean you're lying and you don't want to quit because you'll be called a liar, so you have a little passageway called the grapevine and you can spare spread anything you feel like over it. But I mean, what is it? I mean, we don't come for each other. We weren't born for each other. As a matter of fact, we probably hate each others guts. (laughter) I think most of you here are the people that would never get along together in this world. (laughter) I mean this is the way, I, this is the feeling I get. (laughter) Most of us are the kind of people, you know, one of us would be in a well and other would walking by never even turn around and never say "Who's in there?" (laughter) Just keep walking, doesn't matter. Never give up to the body each other anyway. But that's OK. That's not the purpose of life to sit on each others shoulders. Yeah to constantly be tackled onto each other. It's to look at Guru Maharaj Ji. To be with Guru Maharaj Ji. To have that connection with Guru Maharaj Ji.

You know and its like yes, just like anything else can be a element that can just disattract us, the same way premies can be an element that can just disattract us, disattract us into traps, you know, disattract us into little little sidelines beyond the behalf of Satsang. Thats mostly with what sometimes happens. You know, there is somebody and he is just mad at somebody else. There is Premie Joe, Joe's mad at John, you know. And Joe doesn't want to quite scream at John. So he sits him down in a place and so "Let's share some satsang." (laughter, clears throat) And then in the middle of the satsang, Joe lets to have lets himn have it, you know, every bit of a piece of his mind, you know, let them have it. You know, you're going to hell and you're no good. Get out of here. You know, you're crazy. You're a bongo, you're everything. I'm not talking about this Joe (Anctil). (laughter) He would never give satsang. (extreme laughter) In Switzerland I asked him. He flew all the way from America and I said, Joe, why don't you give satsang and he got up and before I could even sit down on my chair and look at the television it was all over. (laughter) What if he's having an experience of Guru Maharaj Ji? (laughter) That's good enough, you know. (laughter) It's good. Perhaps he's being saved from the consequences of philosophy.

But but that's what we do to each other you know, sometimes it is that satsang we make it and let go and let somebody have it because you know we don't have enough guts to let him know straight away otherwise we might even punch us back. Give us a black and a blue eye and you see, you know, all the things that are happening, all the things that go on in the communities, all the things that go on everywhere. This is dangerous for everyone of us because that is just becoming another disattraction. To me what is the difference between that and this one premie you know who calls up, this one initiator and says "You think I should get married?" And this initiator says "Why don't you wait and suss it out to see if you really do want to do that?" you know, and it's like "Okay" well anywhere this premie goes out and gets married. A month or so later she called back the same initiator and says "Well you know since the last time I talked to you I got married but now my husband wants to get married to another woman and he still wants to have me but he still wants to have another woman." So what's the rationale behind it? "So we can propagate, we can share some satsang. We can share some more satsang. We can come together and share some experience of Guru Maharaj Ji. For a perfectly naive person that may sound "Oh wow. Yeah that's a good idea." But then again how stupid can you get? But when we really start coming to a place, when we really start coming to a point, when we start taking satsang and start using it for our purposes and then we start doing the same thing with service. You know, we want to have something, you know, we go out and we start doing our trip and calling it service.

You know, it's just like lately, you know, there have been a population explosion. I mean an intense amount of population explosion. I mean everywhere, not in this world, in the Premie community and in and out for their end or out all you see is these little Tinker toys, you know, all over the place and one day I was listening, I was just in Los Angeles, you know, just just last time and there's a sisters' ashram and I went there to see because they were gonna prepare it you know whenever we came that way, we could stay there. So I went in there. There was nobody there of course because a few streets down that's where the sisters were, shopping. We see them, so we came there, you know, John Hampton was there with me, I mean you know like this is this is based upon. the stumbling blocks that we put in front of us you know, ourselves.

It's like what is going to happen to you if you jump off New York Empire state building but you'll never find out that that's the way it is. We go off jumping all these buildings and we are the premie who comes every time to the darshan line with a broken arm, with broken legs, what did you do? "I just had an experience, you know, jumping off a building. I just wanted to compare it to satsang, you know, and Guru Maharaj Ji you were right. Satsang is beautiful, much more beautiful than this, at least when I hear satsang I don't get broken legs and broken arms. (clears throat) Next time around another programme, here comes this premie with a busted head lying on a stretcher. What happened this time to you? Guru Maharaj Ji there was just one doubt I had left it because last time when I jumped I landed on all fours. This time I just wanted to try out the experience of landing on my head but you know what Maharaj Ji you're still right. Satsang, experience of satsang, is still a lot more beautiful than the experience of jumping off a building and landing on your head and isn't it just sometimes with just the way it is like that. I mean Guru Maharaj Ji never tells you to jump off a building, Guru Maharaj Ji doesn't make you, tell you to make your life sophisticated.

I mean the way everything is laid out to me it's super simple, it's super super super super simple. You know I didn't like anyway it pertains to this thing you know anyway John was on the phone and there was nobody in the ashram except ???? (person known to M) she was sleeping upstairs and I didn't want to go wake her up or anything so we were just downstairs. She was very sick. She was scared she was gonna die so I didn't wake her up, you know, that's what she wanted to do. So all of a sudden the phone rang and John Hampton picked it up and one of the premies starts talking to him and just started asking a question is what about appointment, you know, and it was like you know a long time ago I said you you don't let's have appointments there was that one point of time then let's have appointments but then I got really smart fast. What these appointments gonna do when they can't understand it in satsang, that's all reason why I don't have any ???? (unintelligible) I mean I mean community conferences anymore, if they can't understand it through satsang I don't know another language. That's it.

You know and its like he was saying inside just said who is this person and what is, what is do they want? Well (clears throat) and there's these premies who want an appointment with you and what to do with these people. I said what's the problem? What problem was there? Why do you want? Why do they want to talk to me? He he. I guess the sister in the ashram, you know, wherever she was told them that there was one sister who wanted appointment with me and she was pregnant and she didn't know what to do. You know. And I'm my only immediate reply could be to have to just tell her "I didn't get her pregnant. How do I know what to do?" (extreme laughter) You're having problem with Knowledge. That's one thing. But if you get pregnant. What am I supposed to do? Deliver the baby. You know, what am I supposed to and that's so many times. This is the case. No matter how weird it sounds. This is the case and this is what we have to steer clear from, you know, that every time we go off and make a stupid mistake that we can just fall back to Guru Maharaj Ji. What's Guru Maharaj Ji going to do? You know, what can Guru Maharaj Ji do? The stage of happiness is never the same.

You know there was this one cartoon and in this one cartoon, this guy was lame and Jesus came by and this guy begged Jesus to cure him. and Jesus healed him and he could walk on his legs again. You know, a few days later, Jesus came again, coming back the other way. And he begged him again and he says "Make me lame." And he said "Why do you want to be lame? I just cured you. You were lame. I cured you now you're not lame. Why do you want to be lame again?" He said "When I was lame everybody used to give me food and I was completely all the time satisfied. Now that's my legs are working again. Nobody even asked me. Make me lame again so I can have my food. What good is it to have my legs when I can't even have a drop of food?" You know and I mean, it's just, I don't think that ever happened. It's not in the Bible, that's for sure. But it's just somebody's imagination. You know, that's the way to some people. it all works. Because what is Guru Maharaj Ji? You know, I mean, it's so simple to look at it. How simple it is. Guru Maharaj Ji comes. You want Knowledge? You want something that I you're missing in your life. Okay. I can give you what you're missing in your life. I can give you an experience. I can give you that satisfaction. I can give you that love. And on thing is true that nobody can deny, no premie can deny that there is an experience. There is a lot and it's true. It's real and it's constant.

And Guru Maharaj Ji says "Okay, here's the deal. You can have this experience if you become a devotee. If you become a premie. If you become a true lover. You tell me in in the definition of this world as a lover. If there's one husband and he has a wife, you might say they love each other but if the husband has another wife and the wife has another husband. Can sincerely they all be called lovers? No. Then its like there's a lot of hanky panky going on. Oh, hanky panky. That's not love. And the deal is, deal is right from the bat, right from the start that there will be sincere and true love. To receive, to be a recipient of true love. You will have to be a lover yourself. You will have to be a premie. You know and the thing is that's a very clear cut deal. And you say "Sure. Why not? Okay. Fine. You know, this will fulfil my debt." This will fulfill the reason of the ???. (unintelligible) And it's like then we for a moment then we are Guru Maharaj Ji's lovers and then we start loving everything else. Yes, Guru Maharaj Ji's there. Yes, but then Guru Maharaj Ji's only there for those programmes. Guru Maharaj Ji is only there for those occasions. Guru Maharaj Ji is only there for those moments and for the rest of the time all this secondary love starts pouring in, all this other love starts filling our heart and can then sincerely we be ever called true lovers? Can sincerely then we be called premie? Because that's what premie means, premies means, premie means lover.

It's a very simple thing. It's a matter of priority and setting that priority right in our life. Guru Maharaj Ji has to be first and then everything else has to be secondary. If Guru Maharaj Ji is become secondary and everything else becomes primary then it can never operate. If all the four wheels of the car become spares and that one spare in the trunk becomes primary. Do you think that car can ever work? Do you think that this can ever happen? So what is that thing? That's what we have to make consistent in this life. Okay, we can go into big philosophies about surrender. But that's what surrender is. You are my all period. My Lord to me period. You are my all and you are my Lord. To me and the situation is that so sneakily things start taking priority, you know, this is exactly what happened, you know, to that premie. I mean sometimes its not up to me anyways is that one example but to me it just seems like you know our mind says "Well enjoy this world. You have to also enjoy this world you know now that you are a premie, now that you have received the destiny of the life you have to also enjoy this world and for some premies the way it is, is, you know there is this one example.

I mean there was this one farmer. I used to give this example a long time ago. There's this farmer and (clears throat) he had, you know, he lived really far away from the holy place and as a time came when he had to go, you know, and he said "Well you know I saved some money" he said to his wife "and I want to go to this holy place and bathe in the Ganges. That way I will be liberated" and he leaves, you know, her door and he's really, really far away from. So the wife said "Okay, well while you're going out this way, going there, there's one place which sells fantastic ladoos. If you don't know what ladoos are? There's these round balls and round balls of ghee and uh basically sometimes it's flowers and nuts and glue taken together and no it's ghee ghee's butter fat and you know it is round things. And she said that uh pick me up from some of these famous ladoos and he said Okay I will, very excited and he left the house. He went to the holy place and he bathed in the Ganges and caught back on the train and he came back and he was walking from the train station all the way back to his house and all of a sudden the memory remembered and he said "Oh God, I forgot the ladoos. While he was walking on this path thee happened to be camel dung all over the place. So he picked up the camel dung and his wife had gone out. He picks up the camel dung and took some flour, rolled it in it and put it in the little box and put it in the drawer.

She came without "It's nice to see you. How was your trip? Everything, you know, it's nice to see you, it's great to see you, beautiful, everything's fantastic, you know, oh by the way did you bring my ladoos? First he hesitated and then he just couldn't, you know, tell her that he forgot about em. He said "Oh of course I remembered your ladoos." (giggles) There they are in the drawer. And she went running out there and put them on a plate and brought them and started eating them. The poor farmer just couldn't couldn't bring himself to tell her that she didn't eat the yeah and yeah he asked her "Well how did it taste?" you know and she says "Well they taste like camel dung but since these are the famous ladoos I'm gonna eat them anyway." He he he And she did. She ate them. It's the same thing. "So dear premies how's been your life these days?" Miserable. But I think that's what I'm supposed to be doing. And I'm doing it anyway. You know, to get away from Guru Maharaj Ji, to get away from that experience. And it's like go out and try your own camel dung, you know, ladoos in this world. And somebody comes along and says, how does it taste? How does this world taste anyway? Oh it tastes like camel dung. But I think this is what I'm supposed to - I think this is what I'm supposed to be doing. So I'm doing it.

Always Guru Maharaj Ji offers that experience, which is real. Always what we go for is what we think and what we think isn't worth being half the time. It's no good because we don't have any understanding. We are part of this problem. We cannot stand up. We can't stand high, you know, for us there can be a fire 3 miles away from here and we would never know it. But for a person who is high up, he can see us and he can see the fire and he can judge the distance and he can also see the direction of the fire. The same way we are part of this world and for us to look out, for us to see us, for us to examine anything, for us to understand anything is impossible. You know because we're trapped our self. We have fallen into the discharge cell and this is why because you see everything else leaves us alone once we fall into the crack. Everything in this world.

This is what happened to Ratnakara. He used to rob people. That's the way he used to make his living. That's all he did, all his life long, literally. And then one day this one saint, you know, Narada became his victim and Narada said "What are you going to do to me?" He said "Well I'm going to rob you and kill you. That's what I do." He says "Why do you want to rob me for?" He says "Well what I robbed from you with that I'll feed my family. I'll feed my you know cousins and my brother and my mother and my wife and my sister, father, you know" and Narada said "Listen you better find out if that's the way it is. Do you think that all the sin that you are doing in this life now? Do you think that your family will also share the consequences of the sin that you are accumulating?" and he said Ah ah, I don't buy that, you know, I go to find out and you'll split." He said "Well tie me up," you know, ties Narada up, takes off, goes back home close to his mother and says "Mother you know how I bring this money, how I bring this money home. I rob and I am doing a sin. I do this sin every day. Do you think that when I die, will you share some of the sin? The punishment that I'm supposed to get for this sin?" and she says "Listen, sure, you know, I want to live and sure I want to eat but so far it comes down to sharing the punishment of your sin, of your crime, I don't want to have any part of it." He goes to his father. Father. Do you know how earned this money through which I feed all of you? and all the sins that are accumulating on me would you share the consequences? He said "No son. I don't care how you get it but I ain't about to share the consequences of these things. You know same thing with his wife. Same thing with all the people he was feeding and then he realised. "No, that's not where it is. It's only you know and then he comes back and he falls down at the feet and he says "Now show me where it really is at because here I just living in a phony fake world and here I put all my effort into it and what does it give me in return? It's not even willing to share my grievances. It's not even willing to share the consequences that here I am accumulating for them."

You know that's when he was just really revealed Knowledge and from there he just took off his life you know gave up everything and he and he wrote the Ramayana.

And then in the same, you know, in the same way Tulsidas this is exactly what happened to Tulsidas. You know the whole story of the rope and the canoe and everything and what did he also realise in his life. He realised eventually finally to all his because because that's not where it was. What happened to Surdas? That's exactly what happened to Surdas. You know he used to be just completely be involved in this world. Every night he'd go to this place and get drunk and watch all these girls dance and that was his pleasure. And then one day somehow the way it all came to him, you know, yeah, that the tablas are saying "Shame on you. Shame on you." And the the cymbals are saying, To who, to who" and then the woman lifts her hand and says to all these people. I mean, that's just the way it came to him. That's the way he understood it and he gave it all up. As a matter of fact he was so disgusted from this world he went out and stabbed his eyes. Poked his eyes out because he didn't want to see this world ever again. He only wanted, only wanted to be connected to that power, that feeling and in that he found everything. He found that life. He found that light. He found he found that miracle.

You know which Brahmanand talks about but I've seen a miracle. I've seen a strange thing. Something that has surprised me. That without land. There is an incredible castle completely invoided with diamonds and it's shiny, glitters with this light. But nobody's playing it and yet still there is incredible music and and a and a blind person is standing in front of this castle seeing it, getting blissed out and describing it and a deaf person is hearing this music and completely getting blissed out and that this beautiful, incredible miracle of seeing the person die and then reborn again without food and without water to sustain himself and then I see this beautiful relam in which this lame person climbs and drinks the nectar which which in the experience of which he is completely blissed out. He's completely gone. He's completely lost. All these parameters of this world one day they eventually close on us. This experience of all these devotees, that experience of all these people. Brahmanand, the experience of Hanuman, the experience of Arjun. You know, what a fabulous experience it is. There is, there's a whole description of Narayan. There is a whole description written by Surdas, there's a whole description written by all these saints in songs, in writings, in different, you know, in different ways, in their own way. And have they really described this world? Have they described that experience, which is really true in this world?

You know, to me to a certain extent our world, our limited access to whatever we get involved with we compose our world. We get involved in our world. We make our world hence this whole world is too complicated, too big, to really cope with. You know in this world we have the loved ones and we have the hated ones. There are our lovers, there are our enemies. And then in this world that we create, you know, there are all these favourite places. And this is the way we like to see it. And you know, I mean peoples' jobs, people's life. That's what they do every day. You know to some people the dream of coming home is really up to this whole scene you know that I was once describing. There's this guy you know what he wants to do is have a nice cosy house, have a nice beautiful job have a nice dog have a nice you know have nice children and come back from his job at home you know take his shoes off, put on his nice comfortable slippers, light up a fat cigar, lie down in a lounge chair in front of a fire and his dog and his dog comes and lies down right next to him and then his son comes, wants to read a story now. And yet you know sometimes really that's our dream but sometimes that's not the way it works and the dog comes half all over you. Next thing, there's your foot still for too long of a time hanging from the side of the chair and he can lift it and takes it you know your foot should be claimed as a territory. Come home for most of the people, it isn't all a dream of pleasureful things.

It's more like you open the front gate with, you know, the dog went and and nobody cleaned it up. Nobody cleaned up the mess and it's the first thing is this stinking forer that you walk into and you step on it. The most horrible feeling perhaps. The you walk up and there's this kid of yours with a nose running all over the place, his diaper half dangling full of it and its like there you are. There is your son. There is your daughter and there comes your mad housewife. Did he ever go (unintelligible) today you know, "where have you been? How come you're so late?" Some people even in a lot of jokes some people describe this whole thing. And I guess I mean, the people out there see all these disappointments but what they don't have any substitutions to it. And they describe you see a beautiful girl and you fall in love with it, you know, with her and every time you both see each other you're all dressed up and everything. And then when you get married, you start seeing the real side of it all. And the way they describe it sometimes is this mask, you know, and your wife's got this mask on and all these rollers in her hair. This clay mask that they put and there you walk into the bathroom at night time and there she is standing and you literally have a heart attack. (unintelligible) I mean that's one way that they describe that as the disappointment of the people in this world.

You know and but that is not the experience of any devotee. That's not the experience of any devotee. I mean even for those gopis, Krishna came and took their clothes all away and there they were in the pond, you know, believe it or not that was the most blissful things in their life. That was they were completely blissed out, that was because they're to them that was a lila and it was beautiful. It was incredible. It was gorgeous, you know, and like there were all these gopis and they would always take the yoghurt and the pot and Krishna would be there with a slingshot and break the pot wide open and all the yoghurt would go all over them and the thing is this kept going becoming more popular and more popular and more popular and its a very simple thing. The gopis loved to walk that route, they could have taken another route, you know, but they loved with their full pots. I mean they could have gone when Krishna was taking a nap, you know, transported then and that was really the chaos that they maked him to make it, you know. But no, just when the right time with the full pot of yoghurt and to walk that way slowly and cautiously and just wait for that pot to split open and it was like that's to them that was the main event was the most incredible thing, you know, to them it was all joy even the sadness the way these sadnesses worked was completely different than somebody opening up the front door and stepping in the dog's doo doo. This sadnesses were when Krishna left, their heart went with him and yet they would have never had it any other way. They would have never want to ever experience that Krishna leaves and their heart. doesn't go with him and it was just like there's that love and that love is real, that love really is constant and that love really is beautiful and it's an even trade.

The path of Knowledge always seems sophisticated to us and sometimes privately because of our nerves, because the way we do not know how to put it. We make it sound even more sophisticated. And yet it is simpler. This is the stage, this is the day age of darkness. This is Kali Yuga. This is, you know, in this age, in this century, this age of darkness and there was even this much sophisticated nobody would even have the experience of Knowledge. You know, and its incredible, that little struggling here, that little struggling there, "Oh I'm choking, Oh my God this. Oh my God, that all this is own created, all this is just like a fault, all this is just an illusion. In fact, it is an illusion because what can you do?

You know when you're flying an aeroplane. I mean I hadn't flown an aeroplane for a long, long time and then I got ???? (unintelligible) I've been flying it. And there is there's an incredible thing that happens when you fly through clouds. When you go so fast all of a sudden there's a huge cloud in front of you. And you go right through it. And you come closer and closer and closer and closer and closer and closer and closer and all of a sudden you're in it. It's just like your stomach just feels like it left you, its just its a strange sensation actually. And you fly right through it and its like so incredible because you just see you flying right through it because what you can't tell ??? ??? (unintelligible) and aeroplane will stop you do that you'll be dead, you know, just drop out of the sky but be in a cloud you go right through it. That's the way it is because that's what you have to understand. Some premies, some of us it's like "Oh my God. See that problem. I'm not going to go through with it. I'm not going to get across it" and it's like, have faith in Guru Maharaj Ji. That's how you gonna get across it. That's how you gonna get across anything in this world.

But not that you go out and get pregnant and then you call Guru Maharaj Ji and call Guru Maharaj Ji and say "I'm confused What should I do? I'm pregnant." I don't know what you should do, You know, probably try and go to a paediatrician. You'll be needing one. So if we can just really and truly just have that faith in Guru Maharaj Ji because Guru Maharaj Ji will see us through thick and thin. Yeah. You make this vow, you know, in sickness and health and in rich and in poor and its like truly who can do that? Who can be with us in sickness and in health, Guru Maharaj Ji. Who can help us too though rich and through poor. Guru Maharaj Ji. In the worst times, Guru Maharaj Ji is there and still in the best times, Guru Maharaj Ji is there. You know, just because Guru Maharaj Ji can just become real for us and we can become real for him. To misuse, I mean you know its like a test I said if you didn't stumble or fall or anything then what are you doing?

For a, for a, for parents, for a mother or for a father to see that little child get up, stumble, fall, get up again, stumble, fall, get up again is the most incredible thing because that child is making an effort to walk and keep trying and trying and trying and it makes mistakes but no problem. The health is there, trying, a little bit of trying and that child is walking and it's the same way with the practise of Knowledge. If you try and try and you try and you try, you see it isn't a matter of that one day you will reach the reach the stage where you will not ever need Guru Maharaj Ji in your life, that will never happen. You can never reach a stage where you won't ever need Guru Maharaj Ji in your life. Always. If you learn to be a devotee you'll always need Guru Maharaj Ji in your life and it's just to keep taking every step, not to just sit back in our chairs, not to just sit back and say "I'm trying to relax." Relax from what? No, it isn't in fact, it is fact getting tense. Not relaxing. Relaxing only happens when that step is being taken towards Guru Maharaj Ji. And so premies that experience is real. That experience is true and that's the way it happens. Your little effort can take you leaps and bounds ahead. Your little tries can put you there. Your little understanding can bring you to that place.

To me, you know, in Guru Maharaj Ji's court who do you expect to be in attendance? Meek and miserable. Weak and humble. That there was those kinds of people that you will find in Guru Maharaj Ji court. You'll find nobody strong. You know, you will find nobody in the eager. But in Guru Maharaj Ji's court you'll find those who have not ??? (unintelligible) heard from this world. When the whole world has given up on us and we have given up on this world. And there's only one. When we are broke. The most broken people sometimes are the ones that you find in Guru Maharaj Ji's world. In Guru Maharaj Ji's court. And truly, why do we have to go through the experience of being completely broken in this world? Why do we have to go through the experience of falling off the New York Empire State Building? Why do we have to go through the experience of doing all the stupid things we can do so we can come back to Guru Maharaj Ji and say yeah Guru Maharaj Ji were right. And Guru Maharaj Ji doesn't just take us and slap us on the face. Can you blame him? No, have that ever happened probably. But you can expect that, you know, because he told us, don't do it. Don't become a victim of this life. Don't become a victim of your mind.

The technique, keep talking towards me and I'll give you the through which you can make it. Call out to me when you need help. We don't call out to Guru Maharaj Ji when we need help. We call out "Oh my father, oh my mother, oh my this, oh my husband, oh my son, oh my." You call out everybody else and that's the same thing life is over.

(missing part, we seem to be in the Mahabharata)

Finally I asked her, "Why didn't you show up?" and I saw you as being the answer. She looks at the just king. Supposedly the just king, all these great warriors and these chiefs and everybody you know they're supposed to be just and fair. Help me, help me, help me and nobody can quite help her and then finally when she's lost all the hope she says called Doctor Krishna and Krishna comes in the house. And "What took you so long?" and he say "Well you never called me and when you did. I came." What took you so long? No, that's the question Krishna should have asked Draupadi. What took you so long to call me. Did you want to be naked in front of this whole place? Did you want your sari taken off? Did you recall me a long time ago before even Ravana approached you. That's when you should have called me.

You know maybe its like in our little ways we try to understand Guru Maharaj Ji. You can't understand Guru Maharaj Ji. And in our little ways we try to understand Knowledge. We can't understand Knowledge. No way. You can't understand knowledge. Wait. You can understand all this. You can't understand Guru Maharaj Ji even if you try. Things will happen, you know. But you may say, "Oh, well, that's Guru Maharaj Ji." No, that's something laughing and blow that concept, too. And I guess that's where the very nice thing comes in. You can't beat them. Join them. That's what you got to do. You can't beat them because you see the system is the perfect system, because it's the perfect Knowledge. Starting with the Perfect Master. You know, that's the perfect thing. You are absolutely imperfect. There's no doubt about that. We are about as imperfect as Guru Maharaj Ji is perfect. We are about as imperfect as Knowledge is perfect. And we cannot comprehend. We cannot understand. How can we? What do we what do we tools to use to understand the perfectness of Knowledge? What tools do we utilise to understand Guru Maharaj Ji.

I mean, all of you, you know, have it all figured out perhaps for this program. Satsang in the morning. Satsang in the evening. You know, will you like to be surprised? (cheers) Okay, there'll be no satsang tomorrow. (noise) Does that surprise you? Yes. It happens so many times we assume and when we assume, we make ourselves the first few letters of the word assume and that's all that's left of us then. Because of our expectations. We expect. We expect okay Guru Maharaj Ji's gonna come. You don't own Guru Maharaj Ji. Jesus, that's the thing you've got to understand, you don't own Guru Maharaj Ji. That's not the way it has to happen and you become the owner and Guru Maharaj Ji becomes just plain, you'll own Guru Maharaj Ji and then you'll have an experience, whenever you, very well please like having an experience. It happens quite the other way.

You have an - I mean it's like our little twerking little brain sats there, you know, can't comprehend things. Our brain is only so big. About this big. It's a big glump of flesh. You know, that's all. And what can this thing do? What possibly can this thing comprehend? It's only so big. That's why we still doubt. That's why we're so stupid. It's a tiny little thing. Tiny, tiny little thing. I mean even an ant has a bigger brain per body size than we do. Yeah. Here we are we think we're the smartest things in the whole world. And here we are, we think we can conquer anything we feel like. But what can we conquer? Everything conquers us. Something? Everything conquers us and then makes us believe that we just conquered it. And its just like a stupid expression of things that happen. We fall into a ditch. Somehow there we are with our banner, you know, at the bottom of the ditch. I just climbed the top of this mountain. I guess it is a mountain compared to the depths of the ocean. But in reality, it's only a ditch.

Still I'm in mind of that thing, you know, I mean that took this guy up to the top of Mount Everest. You got up there, stepped the flag in, said "Let's get out of here" you know. He started the journey back down but its was on top of the Mount Everest. It's like what conquered him? Did he conquer the Mount Everest? How can you conquer a mountain? What can you do with it? He can't move it. I mean what can you do with it? You can't put a leash around it and say "Follow me." It just conquered this guy but this guy thinks he just conquered the Mount Everest by climbing on top of it, you know, the thing is here is our inventions, we make this aeroplane that flies 44,000 feet. And there's not too many aeroplanes, you know even a Boeing 707 goes around 40, 41, and its the same there's these geeks that have been spotted flying over Dehra Dun at 44,000 feet up in the sky. Ha ha ha. I wanted to say that. Their oxygen mask and their little beaks, pressurised goggles, you know, one jet engine, you know, was gliding across 44,000 feet up in the sky. It's incredible.

Once Maharaj Ji was saying, you know, it's really incredible to be up at that altitude. You know you don't find too many jets up there. I just talked to myself. Yeah. You all of a sudden you're flying in a Concorde and hear come the geese right at you. And you don't expect aeroplanes but here comes the geese, you know, right up there 44,000 feet. And the top of Mount Everest it's just a joke. What doesn't Nature already have. Everything we have stolen from what already exists. We haven't created one single thing. It already exists. It already is there. I mean, you look at the-you look at the scuba tanks. Just a principle of what some of these mammals do, they hold the air in. And utilise it and go a way down. Capacity to stay down there for such a long long time.

So it isn't in the in the conquering of this world or pursuing our dreams the way we feel like. Because what is great? Great is just an imagination. A fragment of this imagination. And yes, you have to understand this whole world is the fragment of the Creator's imagination. And so where do our dreams fit in? It's the Creator's game. It's the Creator's play. And we are the creatures of the Creator. In this world surely the thing is does does that person own the dog or does the dog own the person? And so many times in cartoons, you know, the dog owns the person. Everything is done for that little dog. Its almost like the guy goes out and work and play with his dog so he will come back home to feed his dog. No matter what there is in this world, whatever there is in our imagination. Whatever there is in our ego. Whatever there is piled up in our brain, dump it. Just dump it somewhere. Not on somebody, somewhere. Just look towards Guru Maharaj Ji. Just look towards Guru Maharaj Ji's ??? (unintelligiable).

You know Guru Maharaj Ji is like, is like that doctor. You go to him, you say "I've got a bad problem." Maharaj Ji says "Okay. Here's the medicine. Follow these instructions and you shall be well and keep coming to Guru Maharaj Ji. And I said, "Did you follow? I said not to walk. Where have you been? You've almost, you know, rubbed your soles out of your shoes. You know, I said to lie in the bed and here you've been doing all these things. How can you expect to get better?" Guru Maharaj Ji says take all the attention, take all the focus that you have in all these things and focus it on just one person. Just focus it on Guru Maharaj Ji. Do we do that? Are we ever done that? And yet that's exactly what we need to do. And that's the most simple thing that ever is to do. You just have to fall in love with Guru Maharaj Ji. You gotta make it two ways. Guru Maharaj Ji is already in love with you. You know, that's why Guru Maharaj Ji comes in this world. And all you have to do is fall in love with Guru Maharaj Ji. To most of us, to many of us, mind comes in and says Guru Maharaj Ji doesn't love you. What's Guru Maharaj Ji doing here if he doesn't love you?

So many people think Guru Maharaj Ji, he's not for me. Guru Maharaj Ji hasn't come for me. I'm too out there and Guru Maharaj Ji's exactly comes for you too. For every individual Guru Maharaj Ji comes and every every individual has in that experience of Guru Maharaj Ji. You know, just fall in love and you hear the bells. Okay, that's what you have to do. Premies, thank you very much and good night. (Bolie Shri Satguru dev Maharaj Ki Jai)

Oh by the way. By the way uh there'll be darshan will be starting tomorrow. And the way we have it arranged, I guess our MC will announce it sooner or later but it's done by the colour passes. And please don't exchange them. Don't go out there after the darshan line and exchange your pass and come with a brown and the green all that stuff. Don't do that. I shouldn't say what's the consequences will be, but I was leaving for you to find out. So just, you know, be sincere. Honest. I can't say honesty is the best policy, devotion is the best policy. But honesty is good in terms of darshan lines. Food, especially when you don't want to make an idiot out of somebody, let your mind come in. So, just, you know, be honest. Tomorrow, not all the premies will be having darshan tomorrow, will be hopefully spread out over three days. You know darshan happening. Everybody just possibly having an experience. So let's go, you know, let's go of the ideas.

You know, I know that some of you here probably fired. So you don't have a job to go back. So what? We'll find a job. What difference does it make if you have a job or not? You will find one if you try. You know in this whole creation. There's so many creatures. So many animals. So many insects. So many birds. None of them have a job. We humans are the only creature that have to work hard. Butts off. For our stomach. And then when we fill our stomach, we use our butts again and our butts off to work to feed ourselves. And then we use ???? (unintelligible) a little while basically. All of you, you know, are here. Some of you are confused. Don't be, there's absolutely nothing for you to be confused about. If you're confused. Just unconfuse yourself, you know.

There's a few perhaps are sad. Cheer up. This is the place to cheer up and so, you know, who knows, you know, it's like, maybe perhaps, this is the longest Hans Jayanti, maybe next year it'll only be four days, you know, two days, three days, and and this is a moment, you know, this is a gift from Guru Maharaj Ji. Just enjoy it. All you should do here. Enjoy. You know this morning I was talking about Joe Anctil's fiasco. The nightmare. You know, he was in the finance trailer. Just back there he just called me. I called him and he told me that he was enjoying this program very much. If Joe can enjoy it, so can you. And by the looks of it, Joe is enjoying it. And that's good. You need it Joe. And so that's everything I want to pass.

You know, it's hectic out there. There's absolutely no doubt about it. It's hectic out there. It is miserable out there. You know, you go every place, for me, when you know I just see this whole world and it's crazy. Just nuts. You know, just bongo. Weird. And for one whole week to come to a place, you know, I haven't been outside in this property since I came. For one whole week to be here Just to be with the premies and every day I see the premies, every day I have a chance to have satsang. Give satsang. That's it. This can go on forever and never get tired of it. You know cause this is real. This is really real. Even though you know it's fake, you know. This place is only set up for a few days. If we stay here for too long all the sandwiches will run out. All the good pizza will be gone. You should try the pizza by the way. It has a seal of approval from the Italian premies. They apparently liked it. That's what the community coordinator told me. But anyway I mean in one sense it is all fake, you know ???'s nightmare. All these cans are out. You know they have to all go back. All the toilets. You know they have to all go back. This place looked strange before premies moved in here. This tall grass all over the place. All of it just looked strange. This is incredible. You know what has been done to this? You know every premie's effort to make it really beautiful, to make it really nice. Just enjoy one whole week. You don't have to bother about anything. Anything. Just enjoy it, if you can just enjoy it. Premies good night. (Bolie Shri Satgurudev Maharaj Ki Jai!s)
