Soul Rush by Sophia Collier (Morrow: $8.95). Collier's candid autobiography about her first 20 years is more than just an odyssey of a young woman of the '70s. Yes, she fasted for Biafra, lived in a commune, used drugs, joined the Maharaj Ji's Divine Light Mission. But throughout, her independent thinking dominates. The writing is mature and almost poetic as she speaks of the marvelous destiny for human life that she will discover. First-rate are the insights into herself and all the others she met on the way.
