Maharaji: Amaroo/Boulder/Miami/Barcelona Satellite Broadcast transcript

This broadcast was recorded in 2005 or early 2006 when Prem Rawat was still calling himself Maharaji. As usual he makes many dubious statements
- "You can never give your breath to another person." Actually you can, and people are even trained to use it as method of saving someone's life
- "The simplest of all truths. You're alive" Really? The simplest?
- At this time, Maharaji was speaking mainly to his own dedicated followers. Their attempts to attract new people interested in Rawat and his Knowledge were not successful despite the onus placed on organisation and the showing of Rawat's speeches in small gatherings in local communities of his devotees
- The most used buzzwords: breath, thirst, within, certainty, ageing, death, joy, happiness, peace, truth, fulfilment, power
- It is the same basic speech he will give for the next 20 years. Every person on the face of this earth has a thirst for joy, happiness, peace, truth, fulfilment but they will get old and die searching in the wrong places. In the simplest process of life, in the breath the answer be found and felt. Thinking and believing is stupid. Feeling and agreeing with Prem Rawat is the only way. The answer is within inside through the use of Maharaji's Knowledge, the four meditation techniques which turn the senses inward. Infinite joy, happiness, peace, truth, fulfilment can be felt in the coming and going of breath which is driven by the infinite power that creates, sustains and destroys which was, is and will be. You will feel blissful gratitude to Maharaji for this gift.
Maharaji: Amaroo/Boulder/Miami/Barcelona Satellite Broadcast transcript
There are those who are interested in this life, who are interested in life's simplicity. Who are interested in that longing for fulfilment. They want to approach it where it is felt, not just discussed but where it is felt.
All of us on the face of this earth have the same yearning. We, on the face of this earth, have the same thirst. We on the face of this earth, all of us may have different names and may have different faces and may have different colours and different hairdos, but we are the same, we're all alike, and you go and you learn about differences. And let me teach you about similarity. I teach about similarity. I don't teach about differences. I teach about that breath that is the same in all of us. I address the thirst which is the same in all of us. We yearn for the same thing. We desire. We want. We pray in our own way. Do the same thing, for the same thing. We try to understand the same thing. Same thing again and again and again.
On the face of this Earth this drama has played out again and again and again. Maybe those people looked a little different. Maybe they wore clothes differently. Maybe they even made battles like we do and all the time the core desire to be happy, to be more content. To be more successful. And whichever way it could be facilitated. Same drama plays out today.
What can you do? What can you do? That you can really do? You as you are without alterations, without any change. Who are you? What are you? You stand in front of the mirror. You fix up your hair and you go "Now I look good." But that's ever changing. Haven't you ever noticed? Haven't you looked at your own picture when you were a little kid? Don't you think you look a little different? So who are you? What are you? What can you do? What can you accomplish? There are people say, well, you know, I am so and so their association with their job with what they can accomplish, with what they can do. Time comes. Eyesight is not going to cooperate. It has a way of … Yesterday this is what I was explaining. A human being's life curve. You know life span is a very much a nice curve like this. It has no plateaus. Maybe you could you know if you were to draw a graph like this you start off with basically zero ability and then it rises as you get older and older and older and maybe what you can do but very it has no plateau. It's just very smoothly. Then it starts to do this (hand goes down) till it gets back right down to zero. What can you do? What can you do? A surgeon, maybe an incredible surgeon loses his hands. He's still alive. He has no hands. He can't perform surgery. What does he do? Who is he now? What does he become?
One day. All that you think you are standing on will slowly dissipate and disappear. This is how it is. No good. No bad. No right, no wrong. But this is it And amongst this when you are kind of that at that apex, you say well this is who I am. And it's very funny because the the first part of it is supposed to be a preparation for that apex and then the latter part is supposed to be the let down from the apex. And it it's a bizarre setup, it's like you work and work and work and work for that apex. And then after that apex is over, you finally get to do what you want to do. It's called retirement. When you can't do a whole lot. That's when you get to do what you want to do. Well, face it. That's how it is. I'm not. I'm not standing in judgement. I am not standing in judgement. I find it curious because all of this formula, ll of this does not take into account the cry of your own heart to be fulfilled. It does not take into account your sincere desire to be in that joy. Your sincere desire to be fulfilled. People ask you know how? Where do you see yourself 10 years from now? And I can only say alive and fulfilled. That's where I see myself. Ten years from now. Two years from now. Six months from now, even tomorrow.
I have a plan. I have a plan and I need that plan because I know about this road. All my life I have said to myself right around the corner it gets smoother. But it doesn't. It doesn't. All my life I have been saying Oh one more corner and I know it will get better and I will do anything so that I can believe in that even more. Somehow I can believe in that even more. And I should know better because my journey needs to be within me. My destination is within me. The very thing that calls out to make this journey is within me and where it wants to guide me, where it wants to take me is within me.
The location, the location for where joy, happiness, peace and truth are has been publicly announced many times. Within you, and so you still want to search? Go ahead. Where you gonna search? When its a well known fact where the tranquillity resides. When it's a well known fact where this joy resides, you're going to search. Its like, you know, your clothes are in your closet and you're looking everywhere. Well, what are you looking for? I need to get dressed. What you what you look at me? You know, I'm in my underwear. I need to get dressed. I'm looking for my clothes. I found it there in your closet. Yeah, but I'm looking for them. But don't you want to be looking in the closet Well, no, first I have to search. (laughter) Now I'm looking for my belt. And this morning, you know, in the closet in the closet, my belt wasn't there. Where is my belt? Should I go like an idiot looking for it everywhere? No, I stood there and I went okay. It is where you took off your pants last. To find that place. Figure out where that was and you will figure out where your belt is. Anywhere I take my pants off and there it was. Still attached and I didn't go. Wow! (laughter) I didn't exactly kneel down in front of that chair and say I have found it. It's simple.
Come to the one who can show and you do not need to search. Don't be searching for truth. Search for the one who can show you the way to get there. (clapping) Its lot easier that way. Don't be searching. The analogy would be, don't be searching for the belt, figure out where you took your pants off last time and that's where it will be. And sure enough, that's where it is. Search. Then search for your thirst because there is the thirst inside of you that will propel you in the correct direction.
You know, there is a big difference between a person who is thirsty and is looking for water and a person who is looking for water to put on a map. There is a difference between a person who is thirsty and is looking for water and a big difference between a person who is trying to dig a well at his house so that he can have water. Big difference. Because for that person who is thirsty, his concepts, his ideas of water have disappeared and it has boiled down into one thing which is just water itself. Not a glass, not a mark on a map. Not a well, not a pump. Not a faucet. Because until that happens. You're caught. Because then that person who's looking for water going. I need a faucet. He's looking for a faucet. My point is that those people who look for the truth in their lives. How hungry are they for that? Because where are they going to begin from? They're going to begin from their concepts. That's what they're going to begin. I'll find it on a mountain. I'll find it in a holy man. I'll find it somebody wearing saffron. I'll find it in a book. I'll find it in that. I'll find it in that. I don't need this. I but when the thirst for that truth, for that joy becomes so ravenous. Now. Now it doesn't matter. Mountain or no mountain. Saffron or no saffron. Bald head. No bald head. Old, young. No. All those things are gone and only exists a simple sweet reality. I felt sure. I'm here. Fulfilling. No comparisons. No ideas. No, none of these definitions of this is how it is done. This is how it is done. This is how it's done. This is how it's done. No. So simple.
There are people who get into it. They want to write a book about how to search for truth. You do this and you do that and you go there and you read this and you read and there's prolific books being written on the subject. I mean that's it. And what have the Masters said about it, gets me every time. Fine. That joy and how simply stated, seek and you shall find. What? No mountains. This is anti climactic. No saffron. No reading of the books. No fasting. When those concepts are gone and a simple reality begins to exist. Then you are ready to understand what joy is. So no wonder it is placed so simply: seek and you shall find. That's not a mistake. Look for it. Take that compass. Take that light and don't shine it out there. Shine it in here. Shine it within and see the most beautiful. See the most precious. See, not your obstacles. The first time. See not your obstacles. But see your joy. The ocean. The sea of joy. And what would that be like? To a thirsty person looking at an ocean of sweet, beautiful crystal clear water. Not salty. Sweet simple pure. Crystal clear water. An ocean. Never in short supply. What a duality? What a duality? You see human being is really a crossroad. Here in this vessel on one side is unfathomable darkness. Darkness that is so dark you don't even know what darkness is. Confusion that is so mighty. It's undescribable. On one side of this vessel is unfathomable darkness. On one side is unimaginable darkness. Confusion. On one side of it is the ocean of question. And on the other side, is an ocean of joy, unparallelled. An ocean of answers. Answers. An ocean and I mean, I mean ocean. I don't mean a lake. I don't mean a pond. And I don't mean a puddle. I mean ocean of unimaginable joy. You are an island. Truly. You are an island surrounded by incredible things. One so dangerous. Being close to it is too close. One where you can, where you can swim and be in that bliss. Unparallelled. All divided by a distance that is less than the width of a hand. And what divides it? Is you (giggles) you. You divide. Yes. On one side is the giant waves of despair going boom!. Boom! And on the other side. Ocean. You, less than a hair width.
What must be that moment in life where there you are, you've been thirsty, you're thirsty, you're thirsty, you're thirsty, you're in a desert, you're thirsty, and you're thirsty and boy, are you thirsty and my god, are you thirsty? And now here you go. You're dying because of thirst. And you've been crawling and you've been crawling and you've been crawling and you know you have been thinking about only one thing. Water, water, water, water, water, water, water, water, water. And guess what? You found it and there it is. There it is. Not 100 miles and not 200 miles and not 300 miles but a few feet away. And you can smell it and you can feel it. What is that like? I understand what it is like to quench the thirst. I can even understand the relief. And what is that relief like? You know, the only thing I can say, the thirst has not been quenched. True. But there was one more thing that was tagged on with the thirst and that one thing that was tagged on with the thirst was uncertainty because it was not certain that he would find water. And it wasn't just the thirst alone that made it miserable but it was the uncertainty tagged with that thirst that made it miserable. And now that there is that water. The uncertainty is gone. The thirst is still there but the uncertainty, uncertainty is gone.
Certainty has replaced uncertainty and in it there is a relief. A relief, a relief unparallelled. Thirst is still there but the relief that yes I no longer have to wonder or wander. Wonder or wander. Wondering is wandering of the mind wondering and wondering and wondering. Looking and wanting to now. Now I know it's there And my thirst will because up to that point that it was wandering and wondering there was that eternal question. This is what it was. Everything was a question, when, where, how? And now all that, all of that questions they are now gone. They have evaporated. I feel relief now. I do not wonder and I do not wander because I see that water in front of me and that believe it or not is an incredible that every human being has the possibility of experiencing that in their lives. Just a possibility. It is. It is simple. It is magical. It is wondrous. It is profound. It is profound because the heart says so, it is profound because of the feeling with it to find the answer and no longer have to search for the question.
For me, my message to people. You have been given a gift. I can show you a way to get in touch with that gift that you have. Not ideas, not philosophies. This is not about coming here and going. OK, so give me something to think about. How about if I tell you the simplest of all truths? Will you be able to understand what that is? The simplest of all truths. You're alive and that is the greatest news on the face of the Earth. That's the truth too. That you exist. That the miracle of this breath comes into you every second and fills you and touches you. Ever wondered if there's a God? There it is. The most incredible evidence of that power that comes and touches you and fulfils you. That, that is your truth. That is your reality. Will you be like this always? No. Once you were young, you have aged and you will age. Not a problem. Yes. Yes, it happens. What you could do 6 months ago. You may not be able to do six months later. Yes, it happens. Maybe you could walk 10 miles when you were young. You get a little older. Maybe five miles after that. Maybe three miles. After that, two miles, after that, you get up. you're happy.
It's not the issue. Everybody gets surprised. Everybody get "Oh my God. You know I can't see what I used to be able to see." Surprise. Have you not seen your parents go through that? Not seen. not seen your relatives go through that? Of course. There are no surprises. The biggest surprise we place in front of ourselves is not accepting what we have been given. You put a fish in a tank anew fish in a tank and the first thing is swim, swim, swim, swim, swim and boof. It yet does not know See, it's used to what being able to swim, swim, swim, swim, swim, swim, swim. It was in a river. Maybe it was in an ocean. It could swim for hours, no problem. It has not yet accepted the fact that it is in a little tank. And it sees a reflection, and it's its won reflection, and it swims, swims, swims, boof, surprise. Then it turns around, it's a little stunned and then. swim, swim, swim, swim, swim boof, surprise. So many have addressed this very issue. Why not accept what you have been given? Accept the joy of each breath. What? My breath can be joyful? Yes. yes. What. in me is the solution? Yes. What, in me is the answer. Yes. What are the questions? Not in you. Outside of you and in you are the answers. Look outside. You will find the questions, but not the answers. Look within. You won't find the questions, but the answers. Strange. Strange, but true. Simple. But very effective. Because within you and I'm not the first one saying this. I'm merely repeating what has been said many, many, many times before. Within you is the solution? Know thy self. You. Now I am not going to get into trying to define what it means to know yourself. Because you are the one who has to be the judge of knowing when you have known yourself.
There is no one like you on the face of the earth, only you. Do you know, you could give your ideas to someone. You could give your jacket to someone. You could give you a watch to someone. You can never give your breath to another person. You can never give this life to another person. It's not possible to transplant that. It's unique and every moment is unique. And every day there will be a sunset. And every day there will be a sunrise, at least round the equator. They get too far north for six months nothing. Around the equator there will be a sunrise. There will be a sunset. And those will stay. The will be people who will stand and they will admire the colours and then there will be those people who will admire something else because they can see a little bit beyond the sun. They can see a little bit beyond the colour They can see a little bit beyond the blue. They can see themselves. They will see a forest and they will see a little bit beyond the forest. They will see themselves and they'll know that that is a gift too to be able to witness that because they are alive and they will be thankful and they will allow their heart to be filled with gratitude.
Gratitude. Thankfulness, not obligatory thankfulness but a thankfulness comes from within you that you are thankful. Gratitude. To know. Not because somebody has whispered something in your ear but you lnow to be thankful, not for the sunset, but for that breath that is allowing you to see the sunset. Because remember there will be many, many, many sunsets even after you're gone. Many and you won't see them. There's something else going on that is allowing you to see the one that is taking place in front of you. So yes, I don't quote scriptures. So yes, I don't talk about on and on Oh yes, this is true because it is written over there. And this is true because it said, somebody said so no! You must know. Can I drink a glass of water for you and quench your thirst? Never. As I cannot quench your thirst by drinking water you must drink the water yourself. And that's what it's about, for each person to know for themselves to feel for themselves. And find that fulfilment.
