Indian guru Maharaj Ji before, during and after the shaving-cream-pie assault

CHILD GOD REMAINS HUMBLE IN FACE OF A PIE, said a Detroit Free Press headline after India's Maharaj Ji had received his unjust dessert in the Motor City. A pseudo-admirer approached with a bouquet, then pulled out a pie plate filled with shaving cream and splashed it in the 15-year-old guru's face. His followers went into something like shock, trying to shoo the press away while they wiped off the lather, but Maharaj Ji never lost his composure. "This was probably nothing like the nails through Jesus Christ," he said, expressing concern only that his assailant might have been hurt or arrested-neither of which was the case.
