Smart Card1999 - Introduction of Smart Card PWK IDs

In 1999 Elan Vital introduced their Smart Cards, a card with an embedded chip and a method for quick and easy identification of PWKs (premies) as bona fide. From these they can quickly identify the number of active premies and the level of their involvement but they have never published these figures. Once you had proven, to an authorised Person with knowledge (usually an Instructor). you had been revealed (knew) the techniques of 'Knowledge' and weren't a known critic of Maharaji's you were in.

This was part of his scheme to evolve Elan Vital into a well organised, electronically connected, rules and regulations, micro-managed institution capable of providing him the support that he was lacking which would supercharge a new wave of 'propagation' he was sure he could inspire. "The Master, when given that right environment, does his thing and it's great. It all works." Unfortunately for Mr Rawat, that did not occur though the Smart Cards, after a little resistence from those ex-hippies who still carried fear of governmental surveillance, proved to work very well indeed. In late 2002 a message was forwarded by a group of Instructors on the &tm;First Class intranet system attempting to get more PWKs (people with Knowedge) to get smart cards.
