Dear Everyone,

Please find attached the financial statement for the year ending June 2003.

Many thanks to everyone, for both your generous individual donations over the year, and/or your support of the events financially when you attend them.

This financial year, starting from a somewhat perilous situation, the Gold Coast community, (with your help), has managed to continue to present video events on the Gold Coast.

In March of last year, as you know, we moved from the Life Education Centre to the current 'Senior Citizens' temporary venue we are using now. This move became absolutely critical in March 2002 due to the high rentals being asked from us at the L.E.C venue, which grew from an initial $80.00 per event, to eventually $143.00 per event.

Simultaneously with the escalating venue costs, a marked decline in the attendance of the events occurred around this time. This was probably due, in part at least, to a combination of the competition of the satellite broadcasts, subscriber home delivery of these videos and an increasing knowledge of and access to, (by some people), the adverse publicity available on the internet. We were close to discontinuing the events because of this crisis and were extremely fortunate in finding our current venue where the rental was and is only $50.00 per event and so encouraged us to continue.

Besides continuing the events, to improve the video presentations as well, we have purchased over the past financial year, (with your help again) a new high tech projector, acquired two new audio systems, updated the latest information table materials for display, and continued to expand the library. (We now have over 500 videos in stock.)

We have managed to sell the old projector to the Melbourne community for $1000.00 and this money will contribute to the cost of the new one.

We plan also to purchase a new D.V.D-V.C.R combination player this week. This will allow the High Fi V.C.R player used at the Senior Citizens venue to go to the Tugun venue, where we need to replace the current V.C.R. The new equipment at the same time provides us with the means to present D.V.D and so keep us update in our future presentations of Maharaji's message.

During this period we have also provided public liability cover of $142.89 per month for the events and posted to Elan Vital $700.00 towards the 'Broadcasts and Materials Fund'.

(The financial contributions made by the communities to Elan Vital have now been discontinued and will no longer be an impost upon us.)

To complete an interesting year, we will move to the brand new 'Senior Citizens' venue on Friday the 18th of this month and at 7.00pm on this date we will hold our first event there.

Its location is just across from the current venue, on the other side of T.E Peters Drive.

I'm expecting a small increase in the rental cost of this venue, (you'll see why); maybe 15%.There is also a possible option of using the smaller conference room there for $30.00. But first of all we need to check everything out by going there first.

Come and check it out as well.

For three reasons.

1. The new venue is something else! (our best ever on the Gold Coast)

2. We will need your ongoing support to make it happen there.

3. So you can bring a friend, and also to say hello as well!

I think that's four! Best Wishes,

John
