Dear S.,
Some feedback from the Gold Coast -
- 1a: Continuing to work at developing inclusiveness and comprehensive communication with/for all people who are interested in being involved in service. The current approach is through having planning and update meetings open to all who wish to attend. (This strategy has been used for about four years now and has been very productive.)
- 1b: We have had a "quieter" time lately i.e. numbers of attendees at events have been lower during the past few months. However maintaining this approach (1a) has kept a strong core existing and maintenance of all "operations". The monthly meetings have produced ideas aimed at encouraging people to attend events - e.g. special video afternoons featuring gorgeous videos etc. This has had a good effect; have used mail-out to promote further.
- 2. Four events at public venues and one event at a house - isolated - in the mountains.
- 3. Over a month there will be one intro, two or three learning more, one specific preparing event per week, one specific PWK event per week and the remainder are PWK/Asp events.
- 4. The special video afternoons mentioned in (1b) are becoming a part of the monthly schedule - approx. one per month.
- 5. Three venues are used each week.
- 6. The main venue - a theatre - is hired. The second main venue is a quality seminar room in a hospital which at this stage is arranged through a doctor (PWK) and is presently gratis. Third venue is the house.
- 7. Main venue (theatre) has own video projector. We choose to take our own VCR and connect it with their projector. Our own video projector and VCR are used at the hospital.
- 8. All printed materials and video selections are processed through the required channels. ( S., J. and Ju.).
- 9. Information, propagation, participation, resources, aspirant. FC makes communication efficient.
- 10a. The aspirant process functions well. It is unobtrusive but caring. People are informed when necessary, and interactions are comfortable. Neither lively nor slow; part of the community. Aspirants are definitely included appropriately.
- 10b. Just the ongoing quiet passion (is that an oxymoron?) that PWK's have about K. and therefore invite their friends/acquaintances.
- 11a. Yes the set of videos for aspirants to view has been put in place. These are available on the information table at P for K events and the mixed events.
- 11b. The aspirants have been very keen to watch the videos on the list. Three people are seeing these videos who do not attend the regular events.
- 12a.b. Information about local service and about Amaroo is accessible at the PWK events. Most information to do with service opportunities is communicated through the "minutes" that come out of the regular monthly meetings and are circulated widely.
- 12c. One long term aspirant is participating regularly. The aspirants here currently are newish and of a more "casual" vintage than in previous times. (Can such a sweeping statement really be made?)
S. - regarding the Propagation in Oz newsletter query -
Several copies of the newsletter were personally handed out after PWK events (in the foyer) to people who are active participants. They were invited to take it to read and hand it back when finished so that someone else could access it. (This occurred before the information came through to say it could be put on the information table.) I was the person to hand the newsletter out.
Hope the above is helpful.
Kind regards,
A.
