Guru Maharaj Ji: The Aim of Life

"I believe that a man should be so close to God that no gap remains between him and He. He feels God and God feels Him. Just as the state of saturation described in science, and the state of tranquility described in the scriptures, the stage of perfectness as the ultimate goal has to be reached by man."

"Listen, if it is somebody's birthday or a marriage or any other occasion, we always take a present for him. But the present has only a momentary existence. There is momentary love in it. For one moment alone it belongs to the person, but in reality the present belongs neither to the giver nor to the receiver. It belongs to Him who takes it back from you … In the same way, this body was given to us by Him and He will take it back from us. Now what we should do is, whatever time we've got, we should try to know Him. This is the kind of game which God has purposely put man into. We must find the answer. In a way He has put us into delusion; we must get out of it. If we succeed in getting out of this delusion, then we have fulfilled the objective of life."

"So be perfect, be in love, do meditation, run smoothly, have a good life, enjoy yourself, be one with Him who has created you. Because this is what you have to find in this world."

"The creation was made for you and you are just asking this question, why was this creation made for you? You were made for some purpose and if you are not fulfilling that purpose, how can you ever know why you were made? Fulfill the purpose and then you will know why you were made. Are you fulfilling that purpose? If a soldier just sits in the field and just smokes and relaxes, and bullets are coming from all sides, he has to get up. He can't start asking why was he sent into this battlefield; he must take his gun and fight and then he will know why he was sent into this field. Are you fulfilling the perfect reason why you were sent into this world?"

… In this age, we have to try to attain the most out of life. And what is the most in life? Today people think that "Eat, drink and be merry" is the most in this life. No. That's not the most in this life. That's the least in this life. The most in this life is the most beautiful Knowledge, and the only thing we are missing is the words to explain to you about it. Unfortunately we don't have them. There are no words because this Knowledge is infinite."

"We are supposed to be in that dimension, which is energy. We are supposed to experience that energy, to experience that Word, to experience that Light which is within inside of us. This is what is meant when it is said in satsang, "be high" – that we should get out of the dimension of our conceptions and come up into the dimension of energy, where there is love, Truth, peace, and energy everywhere. That is the dimension that we want to be in. Guru Maharaj Ji, via Knowledge, brings us into that dimension. Then what happens is that we become in perfect ratio, in perfect proportion.
