Prem Rawat: In View newsletter"What Does Knowledge Mean To Me?"

"The value of Knowledge is the value of being turned on to myself. It makes me feel full and complete and happy in a unique way - knowing that the source of my happiness and fulfillment is myself. Before I practiced Knowledge, I was whatever I was doing. I didn't know there was anything else. I was my thoughts or whatever somebody told me. Now I'm free of all that. I still feel all the waves come, but now it's like I'm sitting on the beach and watching them instead of being battered around by them."

"I'm 73 years old. All my life I've been searching for something, but I've never been satisfied with what. I've found. I just wanted to be accepted for what I was, for what I am. I never found that. But with Knowledge, I'm satisfied with what I am. It's amazing. Knowledge has done a lot for me. I feel at peace with myself and with the world. It makes me feel young and full of spirit. It helps me enjoy life, Before Knowledge, I used to have aches and pains. I still have aches and pains. Knowledge isn't about. survival. It's something else - something that makes you feel good and peaceful and happy."

"Knowledge is the only thing I've found in my entire life that's given me a feeling of complete fulfillment."

"When I started listening to people talk about Knowledge, it wasn't so much the words they used but the feeling I had when they spoke. I felt filled up. I realized there was something I had been missing. I'm a meat and potatoes person. I wanted something absolutely real and tangible. But I also wanted something that would go on continually an experience that would fill me up. And that's the experience I have with Knowledge - an experience of peace, of feeling loved and cuddled and nurtured."

"What Knowledge means to me is that my life is now one of joy instead of drudgery. Before I received Knowledge, I had no idea I was here to have a good time. Now that I've had the benefit of practicing Knowledge for awhile, I mean, this is a great place to be! Another thing that Knowledge means to me is a sigh of relief, a sense of satisfaction. It's like somebody holding me in their arms and patting one on the head and saying, 'Linda, it's OK. You're OK. The world's OK. Whatever's happening is OK.' That's what Knowledge is for me - a feeling inside myself of incredible well-being."

"Knowledge is the glue that holds it all together for me. The only way I can enjoy myself is to love myself. And the only way I can love myself is to really experience who I am. And the way to do that is to practice Knowledge."

"Why do I practice Knowledge? So I can live comfortably with myself. That's the most important thing. Even if I don't achieve anything else in this whole lifetime, that's a huge thing. It's amazing when I stop and think about the secure feeling that's within me. It doesn't rely on anyone else. So many people are into power and control, but to me, the feeling I have inside is the ultimate control. I can let go of other things without having to control them, because I already have what I need."

"Knowledge is not an emotional feeling. It's a knowing. Practicing Knowledge has given me a sense of freedom. Now, in a certain place inside myself, I no longer suffer. Sure, I sometimes have physical or emotional suffering, but I no longer suffer in that deepest place. In the time that I've been practicing Knowledge, I've seen that it doesn't have a beginning or an end. You just jump in. You start wherever you are. I've never really found the rock bottom of my heart since I started practicing Knowledge. There is always a deeper place to go. That, in itself, has given me a sense of wonder."

"Day to day, Knowledge is the most valuable thing to me. Everything else comes and goes and changes. You never know what to expect. There's such a safety in Knowledge. I know that whatever happens, I will be OK, I have a home. For me, Knowledge manifests itself when the truest, simplest essence of me manifests. Just. the other day, I was thinking of all the most outrageous times I've had, when I've laughed the loudest and felt the most weightless. Nine out of ten of those times were in Maharaji's presence. Even though I don't understand him, he has always been - and still is - an inspiration to me. He's the example, the master of Knowledge."

"I have Knowledge, I practice Knowledge, I experience Knowledge. What that is, I can't tell you. I can't tell you what your experience of Knowledge is going to be, as if it were on a road map somewhere. All I know is that when I live within this Knowledge the quality of my life is really different.. When I put myself into it, it gives me back a hundredfold."

"Knowledge has been the one joy in my life that hasn't changed. With Knowledge, I don't have to impress anybody. I don't have to be a certain way. I can get up in the morning with sleep in my eyes - it's not going to abandon me. If I wear curlers to bed, I don't have to worry about it. I don't have to worry about anything! Knowledge accepts me the way I am, whether my personality is wonderful or rotten. When I'm having that experience, it puts a new light on life for me."

"What Knowledge really is to me is the awareness of how life actually is, of reality, the part of life that doesn't change. I'm rich when I drink from this Knowledge, and I'm poor - no matter what I'm doing - when I don't. It's the source of enjoyment. It's what removes the mystery from life."
