Prem Rawat Predicts the Millenium

Ron Geaves argues in 'Prem Rawat and Counterculture' that Prem Rawat was a 'solitary sant' ie "someone who has realized the ultimate truth within creation, with particular reference to the presence of the divine within the human being and therefore experiences a higher reality in daily life" and so had no millenial expectations, made no prophecies of his initiating and ruling a new Aquarian Age of 1,000 years of peace and that these ideas were held only by his young countercultural followers.

We have already seen that early British and American followers persuaded Prem Rawat to attend Glastonbury to fulfil prophesies concerning the advent of the New Age and that rumours of an avatar visiting the Fayre were prevalent in the counterculture grapevine. This tendency would reach its apex two years later at the aptly named Millennium '73 Festival at the Houston Astrodome in Texas. p168

These ideas seemed to have reached their apex in November 1973 and there is no doubt that the festival was seen among American counterculture followers as the fulfilment of their dreams of social change. This would result in considerable speculation and prophesies concerning what would take place in the Astrodome. p168

It is unlikely that Prem Rawat would have shared his brother's views or understood the cultural baggage that arrived with the label 'Millenium'. For him, it would have been one more event in a very busy tour schedule - one that was much more ambitious in scope than anything undertaken so far. p169

Ron Geaves cannot know what Prem Rawat was thinking but only what he said and did. Prem Rawat was already prophesying he would initiate a millenium of peace and rule the world before he had countercultural followers. In 1966 he declares he will unite all religions. In 1970 he declares he will establish peace in the world by ruling it.

Prem Rawat fully understands the cultural baggage that comes with the term Millenium as he demonstrated in speeches leading up to Millenium 73. He prophesises that it will be "the most Holy and significant event in human history" and that "for the first time the same amount of people for all nationalities, for all creeds, for all sizes, for all colors are coming there to be in the perfect vibration and to be the perfect harmony" and that this will fulfil past prophecies: "read the book of prophecies then you read the brochure of Millenium and you just say, "Right on" you know. That's it."

At Millenium 73 he reveals how he will establish peace in this world. Reveal it to everyone. So when he says "establish peace in this world" he is definitely not talking only about an individual's peace but a global peace, a millenium and it is this plan that he reveals to the world.

I can establish peace in this world. I can. It's very possible. It's just too easy to accomplish peace, just give Knowledge to everybody and do it.

I'll tell you something, there is going to be perfect harmony in this world, it's going to be beautiful. I can bet you that, no doubt

At last in 1980 (if he hadn't already done so) he announced the Age Of Aquarius

Something is gonna bring the Age of Aquarius, something is gonna move those stars, something is gonna move those planets, something is gonna move those things to show the sign of the age of Aquarius and when we am content with them, then there will be an age of Aquarius. … there is a whole definite purpose of creation that we have to understand and I think now is the time where you should go out and start propagating for Millenium and I, you know something I really would like as many premies as possible should go to Millenium because I can't describe it but all I can say is it's going to be the beautiful function, it's going to be gorgeous, it's gonna be fantastic beautiful and I can't, I can't describe it I mean it's just like more than fantastic, it's more than fantastic because people are now realizing, people are now realizing the point, what the point of Millenium is. There is one point when the world assembles at that point and oh boy it's problems, it's filled with problems you name any problem he you want to name and its there. Anything, you name it and for the first time the same amount of people for all nationalities, for all creeds, for all sizes, for all colors are coming there to be in the perfect vibration and to be the perfect harmony because it is like this that if you go in a funny suit okay, you think "Uh Oh I feel very funny" but when you go to the hall you see everybody's wearing the same suit so it doesn't even feel funny and that's how it is. You go to, you go to give somebody satsang, you go to let look at somebody, somebody looks at you and you feel funny because you are, you understand, you understand it and he doesn't understand it. That's the, that's the really cute part about the whole thing that it's like you know you know what he's talkin' about but he himself doesn't know what he's talkin' about you know. It comes to Knowledge, it comes to a point and you know it, you know it and he says, "Oh, I don't know what you're talking about." So, this is, this is the point and that, in that Millenium function you'll be able to look in everybody's eyes and feel the perfect and the same harmony, same vibration because we all know what we're talkin' about, we all know what we are involved in, we all know what's what's going on and that's really really me that's really really beautiful and even this times, this time we've had an opportunity to to be there and I think it's very important you see this is why I'm going to encourage people.

That's how you go, "Right on" you know because because how the pieces coming together in this world now at this point how just materializing itself completely it's like almost like it's almost like something that from that part just materializes itself and materializes itself and it's really fantastic seeing it being materialized you know and some and it's exactly the feeling you get when you will be there and because you'll be able to see that really how beautiful it is when something like peace, when something like truth materializes itself into the form so you can feel it you can you can understand it, see it and it's really, really incredible the way everything is, everything is going.

In the world there is suffering, hatred and dissatisfaction. That fact does not need proof. It is understood by all that the world is passing through a great moment. No one has satisfaction of mind nor can they find the solution to this. The world is looking for the Perfect Master to come and reveal the Perfect Knowledge of God. We can attain all materialistic things and still not have peace, for peace lies inside not outside in materialism.

As you all know Millenium '73 is being prepared for now. This festival has been organized by Divine Light Mission each year since 1967, in the memory of the late Satgurudev Shri Hans Ji Maharaji on His birthday. This year the most Holy and significant event in human history will take place in America.
