There was a time when Prem Rawat aka Maharaji ("Great King") aka Guru Maharaj Ji said his premies ("lovers") now called students were easily recognisable by the light shining out of them. The light of youthful enthusiasm and the excitement of conversion to a new religion amidst an apparently ever-growing band of "beautiful brothers and sisters". 30 years later, after decades of meditation on his "Knowledge", they seem to be perfectly normal middle class "Westerners". Sure they're smiling for the Facebook pics but if there's anything special about these people, it doesn't show, especially if you know them personally.

These images were taken directly from Facebook and are randomly selected except that they were linked to people I knew personally or knew of as followers of Prem Rawat's since about 1970 or who openly show their committment to Rawat, some in administrative positions. It may be that some of these people have renounced their faith in Rawat and have realised they believed in just another cult leader spruiking a phony cure-all but you won't be able to tell that from the photos as they weren't any different when they were true believers apart from those brief exciting periods when they were trying to convince others of their "experience" or attending cult functions and shined just a little bit, much like someone who has just left a church service or a good movie.
NB: Most of these people that I knew were good, nice people but then so are all the people who I know who have nothing to do with Rawat or have left him disillusioned and disgusted that they were duped.
Anyone not wanting the possibility of their being identified as a 'student' of Prem Rawat by their thumbnail image can email the the web site creator on premrawatbio@yahoo.com with a request for deletion.
Prem Rawat's "Knowledge" has three parts: regularly listening to his speeches, doing voluntary work for organisations serving him or donating money and daily meditation correctly practicing the four techniques he recommends. The techniques are so simple it's hard to see how they could be practiced incorrectly. First technique ("Divine Light") involves sticking your thumb and middle finger on your eyeballs (NB: with eyes closed) and your index finger between your eyebrows. Second technique: ("Heavenly Music") poking your thumbs into your ears and listening. Third technique: ("Holy Name") thinking about your breathing (NB: continue to breathe). Fourth technique: ("Nectar") curling your tongue backwards and tasting. Rawat's father taught slightly different techniques but either way it's difficult to see how these could produce the benefits claimed for them especially as Rawat claims His Knowledge is the only method of attaining real happiness and love in this life.
