Salutations At The Lotus Feet of Satgurudev

The question to be asked is how the Divine Light can be seen and how this Holy Name can be known. The answer is that just as a candle can only be set alight by the touch of a living flame, so that instantaneous vision of this Divine Light can only be achieved by the touch of an Enlightened Soul, and infallibly so. And so with the primordial vibration, the Real Name of God, for, being unable to be written, it cannot be found in books, and, being absolutely unspeakable, it cannot be heard from human lips.

So who is Guru? When God Himself incarnates in this body, He is called Guru, because only God is the power who can bring us from darkness and put us into light. How to recognise a Guru? How to understand a Guru? Now you see, Guru is not marked on His head, or does He carry an identity card which says, "This is a Guru?" He is not stamped, "GOD," on His head, so how do we recognise Him? How do we understand that this is a Guru?
… there is an attachment between us and God and Guru, and through this we can understand who Guru is. Because, when He comes to us, we will be directed towards Him. What is the test? Actually there is no test for Guru. Nobody can test Him because He is almighty, He is all perfect. There is only one thing, and that is when we receive His Knowledge, then He shows us
…When we go to Guru, He shows us something. Automatically there is light there - the light which He reveals inside of us.

Guru Maharaj Ji, after I received Knowledge, I didn't really get any experience in my meditation and I lost faith to the point where I no longer had the will to meditate. So what should I do?
You see, there is something else that you should know, and that is devotion. And devotion isn't a formal thing. If you have a tap and you fill a bucket, you won't put the bucket over the tap, will you? No. It must be placed lower. So that's how the whole thing is, you know. And it's not a question of asking, "Why is this happening? Why do I feel like this?" There is no question to be asked like that. Just when a devotee wants to gain something he must be like the bucket. He must be humble. He must have devotion. And it isn't that he can be put lower, the devotee must put himself lower. There is a process, and it is a natural process. When one thing is higher and one thing is lower, then only can something be transmitted from one to the other.

You see what has happened today, we have got accelerators in our cars. We can accelerate but we cannot stop our cars and this is very dangerous. Our desires grow and grow and grow, but we cannot stop them. There comes a point where man becomes frustrated, and ultimately he fights. He wages wars, international wars, and civil wars. If we can control these desires, if we can control this mind, we can control war, because we don't need it, you know. This Knowledge can control desire, it can even control the mind because it is truth."
