And It Is Divine, Volume I, Issue 12, October 1973
'And It Is Divine' was the name of this colour magazine published by Divine Light Mission in the USA from November 1972 until the late 1970's
when it was replaced by 'Elan Vital'.
It began as a monthly magazine attempting to carry a wide spectrum of articles relating to the wider alternative culture with highbrow pretensions
and ended the same as all other Divine Light Mission magazines printing pictures and speeches of Prem Rawat's or his immediate family or close followers.
Before 1974 every copy carried a signed manifesto by Sant Ji Maharaj stating "There has never been a time when the Lord of Creation
did not manifest Himself in human form, and come to this planet Earth to do away with evil and spread the True Knowledge.
For seven and one-half years the two greatest military forces that have ever existed on Planet Earth - the United States and the Soviet Union - have watched the political chaos of the Middle East - a chaos they cannot control bring them sickeningly close, again and again, to thermonuclear disaster. They have been sliding down into the abyss a long while. At first they were trying to become involved. Later they, were trying to gain controi. Still later they were trying to avoid disaster. And now they are simply clamping down hard on any sign of trouble, and hoping that it will go away.
Soul Rush is a bandwagon to the Golden Age. The international gathering, Millennium '73, is set for the Houston Astrodome on November 8, 9 and 10. There Guru Maharaj Ji will unfold his plan to bring peace to this earth. Soul Rush is America's special invitation to attend the most amazing event ever to take place in its history.
A caravan of five hundred people will travel all the way from Boston to Houston, stopping in cities along the way, holding parades, giving special public: programs, speaking to civic groups and churches, and going door to door with their invitation of peace, the brightest message that one person has ever given another.
Love Has No Walls
Swami Dyanand wanted to realize himself. He went in search of a Guru and he came to his Guru. It was very late, and he knocked on the door. From inside, the Guru said, "Who is there?" Swami Dayanand replied, "If I knew who I was, I wouldn't have come here."
When I began doing research on police, a Sioux Indian prayer came to mind. "Great Spirit, help me never to judge another until I have walked a mile in his moccasins." If I was going to investigate law enforcement officers with an open mind, I needed inspiration. I was always one of those who turned away and tried to look innocent at the sight of a cop.
"Guru Maharaj Ji is remarkable. A fifteen-year-old who comes from the foothills of the Himalayas, he already has a group of doctors working to organize a hospital along lines which he has suggested. Thousands of drug users have kicked their habits as a result of his teachings. Senators congratulate him. The blind tell us he has given them inner sight. And he proclaims that he will feed the hungry and bring peace to all who ask."
Many of them simply couldn't believe that Guru Maharaj Ji was able to talk about the Knowledge of God, and other lofty subjects, while he was still so young. They used to say, 'There must be a tape recorder behind him, and it's the tape recorder which is giving satsang, not Guru Maharaj Ji.' Some of them said, 'His mother is sitting next to him and she's the one who is telling him what to say.' And they had various other ideas too. But none of them found out who Guru Maharaj Ji actually was, and none of them realized who the great Power is who has come to save this planet. People always try to judge the Supreme One with their intellect. It's nothing new.
Guru Maharaj Ji began his Third World Peace Tour in New York City at the Louis Armstrong Stadium, July 28, 1973. Eight thousand people came to hear him give the following address.
I don't say I am a Perfect Master as you people would think of a Perfect Master. I say I am a Perfect Master, but how do I say I am perfect? I don't say I am bodily perfect, but I'll say I'm perfect because I can give you, I can reveal to you the perfectness inside you. Anyone who is teaching you science, you call him a science master; and anyone who teaches you woodwork, you call him a woodwork master. Well, I can teach you perfectness, so I don't think it will be too bad for me to call myself a Perfect Master, or for you, to call me a Perfect Master. It does not mean that I become bodily perfect, or anything like that -- no! Not at all. And I don't claim I am a Messiah or anything like that. Just one simple thing -- if you want peace, all right; I can give you peace. That's it. That's the whole deal.
The grid100s we place on time are little more than prisons for our minds. Remove the grid100s, fragments of past and future disappear. The underlying vastness of reality is experienced in the here and now. By concentrating our minds on measuring time and space, the experience of time/space itself. is lost to us. In order to reexperience reality, we will have to clear our mind of pieces of time and parts of space. Unity then becomes real. There is no distinction between the time, the space and the perceiver of reality. There is only experience itself.
Owls and the Swan
It was early morning and all the night creatures were asleep. Pip, Wink and Streaky were tossing fitfully in their beds, dreaming of a light a million times brighter than the moon, when all of a sudden they realized that someone was gently shaking them: "Wake up, wake up," said father owl. "I want to show you something."
